CMF 1.6.2-beta released

The CMF developer community is pleased to announce the release of version 1.6.2-beta of the Zope Content Management Framework (CMF). This release is intended for testing purposes only; we do not recommend deploying it to production servers. The final release of version 1.6.2 is expected in the week of August 13. What is the CMF? The Zope Content Management Framework provides a set of services and content objects useful for building highly dynamic, content-oriented portal sites. As packaged, the CMF generates a site much like the zope.org site. The CMF is intended to be easily customizable, in terms of both the types of content used and the policies and services it provides. What's new in this release? The 1.6.2-beta release represents a pure bug fix/maintenance release without feature additions. Where do I get it? FastCGI server crashing

I am experiencing seemingly random crashes of the Zope FastCgi server that are really annoying users. Any help most appreciated. Product refreshing is important for me for my future in Zope land. Because I depend on product refreshing so much it means I can't dip into Zope 2.9. Apparently the "bug" is somewhere deep in the ZODB code (thanks Dieter Maurer for pointing this out some time ago) and that's a domain I'm very very novice in debugging. Renamed user account and OpenFlow

Hello everyone, I'm currently taking over the administration of a running instance of Zope and OpenFlow. These have been used to create a workflow for a decision making process. The users are authenticated via LDAP. The problem is, one of the workflow users got married and the username has been changed to reflect the new last name. Instances already in the workflow are assigned to the old username, and the person cannot log in to interact with them. I can assign the new username to the correct role, but what about the old instances? Is there an easy way of migrating the instances assigned to the old username to the new one, or maybe creating a local user with the old username? Any step-by-step suggestion is welcome, as I'm barely getting familiar with the admin interface. Thanks in advance, Titel

I'd agree with you there- theres a little too much bloat, but theres not much that can be done about it at this point without a major architecture update. Providing Arguments to ZSQL Methods that Insert and Update in Python

Dear Zenith of Zope Knowledge, Thanks for all the help from before it is truly appreciated. I know that it's possible to provide arguments when selecing in a ZSQL Method, but is it possible to provide arguments to UPDATE and INSERT. I'll use an example that I found from a previous entry in the Zope mailing list. The ZSQL method looks like this: Arguments: emp_id first last salary UPDATE person SET person_first_name = first, person_last_name = last, person_salary = salary WHERE person_emp_id = emp_id and the call in the Script(Python) would be: (context.aq_parent).updates.update_person(empid=someval1, first=someval2, last=someval3, salary=someval4) I'm having trouble correlating the Python variables with the ones in the ZSQL method. I know how to pass variables from forms in DTML documents via <dtml-sqlvar emp_id type=string>. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance and have a great weekend! Take care, Muk Yan

SERVER CRASHED! VHM/Apache2 Arrrgghh!!!

Help! Second day server's been down!! I tried to upgrade from apache 1.3.3 to 2.2.3 and now nothing works. Can't remember or find anything I changed on the old apache but that won't come up either. The problem is in proxying. I use VHM. I had to comment out the following lines in order to get Apache2 to come up: # Reverse proxy params CacheRoot "/tmp/proxy/shop.2012.vi" # CacheSize 100000 # CacheGcInterval 2 # CacheLastModifiedFactor 0.1 # CacheDefaultExpire 1 # CacheDirLength 2 Of course, then nothing in Zope works, because it's all based on VHM! I've been googling my brains out with no luck! Did the cache rules get rewritten in Apache2? Is there new syntax I should use? Here's my configure command: ./configure --enable-so --enable-expires --enable-vqadmin --enable-speling --enable-rewrite --enable-cache --enable-deflate --enable-disk-cache --enable-mime-magic --enable-mods-shared="proxy proxy_http proxy_ftp proxy_connect headers" Please help. This is my FOURTH POST, second to Zope, and NOBODY has responded to the first three!!!!! TIA, beno
