Why do you want to recode into DTML? I think that is piece of good code and much faster than DTML. read-only-database

acl_users

Hi, I'm trying to do a batch add of users to the standard acl_users folder. Note quite a total success or total failure just yet. First I made a text file (usr_pwd.txt) in the form of password space username. and placed it (temporarily) in the Extensions directory. Then an external method (LoadUsers) to read it: def LoadUsers(self): f=open('/var/lib/zope/Extensions/usr_pwd.txt', 'r') y=f.readlines() return y And a script (user_load): ## Script (Python) "user_load" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace=_ ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters= ##title= ## y=context.LoadUsers() for x in y: z=x.split(' ') acl = container.restrictedTraverse( '/foobar/acl_users' ) acl.userFolderAddUser( z[1], z[0], '', '' ) return 0 I hit the Test tab and now I have an acl_users folder full of users with the correct user names, and their passwords show the correct number of characters, however I can't log in using any of the user/password combinations. Should the path '/foobar/acl_users' been simply '/foobar/' or '/foobar' ? Any suggestions? Thanks, Sean

invalid property value: wrapped object

Hello group: Running Zope 2.6.1/Python 2.1.3, I get the following error when I try to pass form values to a custom ZClass instance-creating method: Error Type: ValueError Error Value: Invalid property value: wrapped object I haven't had to deal with this kind of error before. Does this mean that the wrapped object (aq_parent) has an invalid property value, or does aq_self have the invalid value? What's the most efficient way to debug this? Zope hangs in FreeBSD with plenty of memory and CPU resources

All, As a coincidence, that hang of Zope I mentioned in a message I posted yesterday has happened again today (second time), after a planned reboot. So here is a completely different issue from the memory one we've been discussing today. There was other weirdness (for whatever reason _mysql could not find libmysqlclient_r.so.15 on some restart attempts), but here is something that seemed to occur consistently while Zope was unresponsive: On FreeBSD 5.4, with zserver-threads set to the default 4, there were seven Zope threads with the following states (CPU use is 0% and memory use is well below the maximum, pretty much where it is at after a normal fresh Zope restart): select ksesig kserel kqread kqread kqread kqread When Zope is operating normally and idle, I generally only see the three top threads, and when serving pages, I rarely see more than three threads; one actually often disappears and I only see two, one in the RUN state. I know that the kqread state has to do with the kqueue or kevent system call, and assume that Zope being in that waiting state for a long time is abnormal. Asking here in case someone has seen this behavior before and knows what might be the cause. As for the last and only other time this happened, Zope regained normal behavior by itself after a little while (in the order of half an hour). I don't see anything abnormal in the event log (other than the _mysql issue I mentioned above), and while stuck, requests do not register in the Z2.log. Browsers do get a connection because they state "waiting for..." but they do not receive anything, not even headers. After a fresh restart, I could get Zope to respond to a relatively benign request (the top level ZMI page), while there were only three Zope threads, but if asking for more, Zope would quickly get to the unresponsive state described above. We're thinking that we may be having underlying OS issues and will probably ask on a FreeBSD list and/or upgrade FreebBSD and hope that helps, but I'm asking here first just in case that this pattern of behavior was observed and resolved before. Zope hangs and Python eats all memory

Dear list members, I am running Zope 2.9.6. on a 64-Bit Suse Linux 10.1 machine (9 Gbyte of RAM) with Python 2.4.3. installed. From time to time, Zope hangs and I cannot access it anymore. I tried to use the "Zope DeadlockDebugger" but if my Zope hangs I cannot call the URL "http://myzopesite:8080/manage_debug_threads?secret_password" to let Zope DeadlockDebugger show any useful information. Zope does not response. If Zope hangs, the python process eats all the memory and the machine starts to swap. I couldn't download Plone, either, so I just built it from tarballs from an earlier installation, tarballing all the products associated with it (Plone 2.1.4, I think). Hi friends, I want use zope.testbrowser for testing my sites, but before write it as DocTest I want execute each statemnt interactively in python shell. I don't know any way to see where it's works, what value it returns, what error I can get and how this error should looks is python... It's why I want check it in python shell. What the problem?
