I have a folder in a plone site that when looked at in zmi doesn't have 'Security' tab. I don't see any way to change this by using parent's Security tab. In what circumstance can this happen? A programmatic hack? More important, how can I fix it, programmatically or not. When I look at the object in the debugger I cannot figure out which permission/roles to change (I am new to zope). Well, the folder from which it's supposed to select a quote holds nothing but a sequential number of page templates (named 1, 2, 3...). What am I doing wrong? can not install ZMySQLDA

Hi, I've installed Plone 2.5.2 by the new intaller on a linux box. It came with zope 2.9.6, Python 2.4.4. But I can not make ZMySQLDA installed on zope. Can anyone help me? I installed MySQL-python-1.2.2 with the same version of python for plone. sudo /opt/Plone2.5.2/Python2.4.4/bin/python setup.py build sudo /opt/Plone2.5.2/Python2.4.4/bin/python setup.py install tar xzvf ZMySQLDA-2.0.8.tar.gz cp -r ZMySQLDA /opt/Plone-2.5.2/zeocluster/Products/ Restart zope. invalid property value: wrapped object

Hello group: Running Zope 2.6.1/Python 2.1.3, I get the following error when I try to pass form values to a custom ZClass instance-creating method: Error Type: ValueError Error Value: Invalid property value: wrapped object I haven't had to deal with this kind of error before. Does this mean that the wrapped object (aq_parent) has an invalid property value, or does aq_self have the invalid value? What's the most efficient way to debug this? Have a look at the full traceback in the error_log (ZMI root folder - you may have to remove the 'Unauthorized' entry from the 'Ignored exception types' field), it may provide some more information. If I put a raise on BorrarFuncionalidad the user is Anonymous but when I launch CrearFuncionalidad the object is created correcty with my user Can you help me? Problems starting Zope 2.9.6 (ZEO starts fine)

I have setup Zope with ZEO on CentOS4.4, with the intention of running a Plone site. Hi, I'm using plone and one of my page got corrupted and displaying blank page. I tried to undo but failed and got error. and in history I'm unable to copy to present. I can see zexp file is of 137kb, that shows information is available in that file. Please let me know if any third party tool is available to retrieve the data or another way is available. In your special case, you will use the property id in "__traceback_info__" to find out which property gives you the problem. I would approach this problem differently. I would try to reproduce the problem in an interactive Python interpreter (under *nix started with "bin/zopectl debug"; for Windows, there are alternative ways) and use "from pdb import pm; pm()" and then analyse the exeption state in "pdb". safe read-only access to acquisition parent objects

Hello, I have build a Plone product which allows users to enter a piece of Python code. This way, users can easily define their own actions without changing the product source code. Those pieces of code are executed using the exec Python command. The problem is that nothing prevents the user to access any other object in the ZODB (using getParentNode, or traverse) and to modify it (as far as the user is allowed to use the method which runs his piece of code, AccessControl will not check his permission during the execution itself). So my first idea was to cut all the acquisition chain: I replace self with aq_base(self) just before running the piece of code, and there is no way to access anything outside the current object itself. It is OK, but my product contains some methods which use Plone portal tools (like MailHost, portal_membership), and I would like to offer the ability to use those methods in the user defined pieces of code. Of course, as I remove the acquisition chain, those methods doesn't work. So my question is: is there a way to provide a read-only access to the current object's acquisition parents ? I thought about different ways: - can we "lock" an object in the ZODB ? - can we build a read-only proxy to an object ? - can we make a temporary copy of an object that will be stored in the ZODB ? (regarding that point, I know how to do it, but I am not sure about the performances...) Any suggestion ? Regards, Eric BREHAULT
