Changing links base address

Hi, thanks to your help I've successfully searched and edited the content of the site (the guy who manged it is unavailable at the moment). Now when I look at the html I see there are a lot of absolute links like: <base ... www.site.net <script ... www.site.net <link ... www.site.net...css <href ... www.site.net Because I have to change domain, I was looking to replace those links, with www.newsite.org What's the best way to do that? Would it be a good idea using relative links? I understand that my apache-zope configuration utilizes VirtualHostMonster to translate addresses so I guess absolute links could be there for good reason, right? This is apache+python2.3.5+zope2.8.7+plone2.1.2 Thanks for your time -- Peppe

Please Help - Extracting Info From ZEXP File

I just took over a website that was done in Zope/Plone. The person formerly responsible for it was not helpful to the client or me in the transition process. Basically he emailed a ZEXP file to me, told me it contains everything I need, and washed his hands of the whole project. I was able to "grab" nearly all the html, css, and javascript files through the web before he removed the site from his server, but now I realize a few pages were missed. So, it seems the only possibility of restoring those missed pages is if 1) everything really is in that ZEXP file and 2) I can find a way to "get to it." I know nothing about Zope/Plone and, no offense to anyone, do not plan on adding it to my repertoire of knowledge in the near future. I just want the "normal" HTML content as it would've been displayed for these certain pages that were not grabbed before he removed the site. Is this possible? If so, could someone please spell out exactly how I can go about retrieving this information from the ZEXP file? Sincerely, Shawn Spinner at networthyinc dot com

I have an internal application that I am developing, about server configurations. I have a list of customers who own servers. I have a list of software which is linked to the list of servers. My server list looks like this (simplified): url: "ServerList?CustomerID=123456" <tal:x repeat="server here/serverlist-sql"> <tal:x replace="server/name">servername</tal:x> <tal:x replace="server/ID">server ID number</tal:x> <tal:x replace="structure here/ServerSoftwareList">list of software goes here</tal:x> ...</tal:x> The problem is that the ServerSoftwareList needs the "server/ID" passed to it for the query, which will return the software on file for that server... any ideas? -- Thanks, Derek Wilson

Problem with using versions.

Hi, I've been working in a version for over a week and finally finished my changes today. I saved them and quit the version, but the affected folder still has a lock on it. I've tried four times now to save my changes, and it's just not working. The first time, it seemed to publish the changes but the folder was still locked. On later tries, I encounter an error when I try to access the page after saving changes. Any suggestions? Thanks, Cathy ----- Catherine E. VirtualHostBase VHM keyword doesn't work.

Zope 2.9 says in the Virtual Host Monster About Tab: "For example, suppose Zope is running on port 8080 behind an Apache running on port 80. You place a Virtual Host Monster in the Zope root Folder, and use Apache to rewrite "/(.*)" to http://localhost:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.buystuff.com:80/buystuff.com…." However, the following in my Apache 2.2 httpd file does not work: <VirtualHost *:80> RewriteEngine on DocumentRoot /var/www Servername goodbyeken.com RewriteRule /(.*) http://goodbyeken.com:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.goodbyeken.com:80/goodb… </VirtualHost> The above directive results in a Zope "resource not found" error. I have a Virtual Host Monster called myVHM in my Zope root directory. myVHM is able to do redirections that do not include the VirtualHostBase keyword. Why doesn't the VirtualHostBase keyword work?

[Ann] "analyseObjects": analyse live objects

With ExtensionClass becoming a Python new style class (i.e. with Zope 2.8), Zope's main tool to analyse memory leaks (the "Refcount"s display in "Control_Panel --> Debug information) lost most of its value as it now only reports refcounts for old style classes and acquistion wrappers. Therefore, I developped analyseObjects. It can be used as an "External Method". analyseObjects analyses the objects known to the garbage collector. Usually, these include only objects that can contain links to other objects (such as tuples, lists, dicts, class instances, ...). Therefore, it can not detect all memory leaks (e.g. an old leak losing string objects in the session machinery could not have been detected). Nevertheless, it is a valuable aid. xmlrpc error handling

In order to avoid zodb implosion, is it sufficient to raise an xmlrpclib Fault object from a method where some validation was not successful? Will zope abort transactions and avoid an other avoidable bad things from happening?
