Why do you want to recode into DTML? I think that is piece of good code and much faster than DTML. KeyErrors in Zope using ZEO

Hi, We've been experiencing two KeyError problems with Zope since moving to a ZEO environment at the beginning of the year. On the server that the ZEO server resides we have 3 Zope instances running, and each of them gets a KeyError about once or twice a week individually. Restarting the offending instance takes care of the issue, but I was wondering if anyone has an idea of why we would be seeing these. Hi, I'm trying to do a batch add of users to the standard acl_users folder. Note quite a total success or total failure just yet. First I made a text file (usr_pwd.txt) in the form of password space username. and placed it (temporarily) in the Extensions directory. Then an external method (LoadUsers) to read it: def LoadUsers(self): f=open('/var/lib/zope/Extensions/usr_pwd.txt', 'r') y=f.readlines() return y And a script (user_load): ## Script (Python) "user_load" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace=_ ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters= ##title= ## y=context.LoadUsers() for x in y: z=x.split(' ') acl = container.restrictedTraverse( '/foobar/acl_users' ) acl.userFolderAddUser( z[1], z[0], '', '' ) return 0 I hit the Test tab and now I have an acl_users folder full of users with the correct user names, and their passwords show the correct number of characters, however I can't log in using any of the user/password combinations. Should the path '/foobar/acl_users' been simply '/foobar/' or '/foobar' ? Any suggestions? Thanks, Sean

a batch of inSaNitY!

Hi I am about to go stark, raving, frothing mad with the DTML-IN batching. Is there a known (or unknown) bug with this? I have searched and read everything I can find about this and no luck. The problem is with carrying the query terms over from one batch page to the next. Right now I am using the script found here: http://mail.zope.org/pipermail/zope-collector-monitor/2003-May/002001.ht ml Except I changed, <dtml-let batch="_.range(100, 180)" batch_size="10" batch_start="REQUEST.get('batch_start',1)"> To <dtml-let batch="myZSQLMethod1" batch_size="10" batch_start="REQUEST.get('batch_start',1)"> The mySQLMethod1 takes two params which the search form supplies to REQUEST. This works great. The pagination works beautifully. However, when I use the very same result script with myZSQLMethod2 (same DB table), which takes 5 params (all optional) the pagination breaks and no-longer passes the query terms. I have checked and rechecked both scripts and both forms. The ZSQLMethods both test good. I am out of ideas. For the life of me I cannot figure out why I'm losing my query terms in one and not the other when the two are almost identical. Care to enlighten me with your collective wisdom? Five: Adapter registry not working?

Hi list, I am clearly doing something wrong here. I try to use an Adapter from zope.app.session with an HTTPRequest object, but the Adapterregistry doesnt quite cooperate. MemoryError exception when importing a zexp file

Hi, I'm trying to import a .zexp file that's 1.6GB but it continually fails due to a MemoryError exception. I guess that adding more RAM would probably fix this problem but does anyone know if there's any way of getting around this sort of problem without increasing the RAM?
