Tutorial on working with Excel files in Python (without COM and cross platform!) at PyConUS 2009

Hi All, Too many people in the Python community think the only way to work with Excel files in Python is using COM on Windows. To try and correct this, I'm giving a tutorial at this year's PyCon in Chicago on Wednesday, 25th March that will cover working with Excel files in Python using the pure-python libraries xlrd, xlwt and xlutils. I'll be looking to cover: - Reading Excel Files Including formatting, unicode dates and formulae. - Writing Excel Files Including formatting with easyxf and things like freeze pains, print areas, etc - Filtering Excel Files A run through on the structure of xlutils.filter and some examples to show you how it works. - Workshop for your problems I'm hoping anyone who attends will get a lot out of this! If you're planning on attending and have a particular problem you'd like to work on in this part of the tutorial, please drop me an email and I'll try and make sure I come prepared! Well, I guess it was my bet ... solaris uses 'crle' for the ld configuration. I included the mysql-lib directory and it seems to work now. MySQL-python-1.2.2 ImportError

Hi Everyone, I am having trouble to make use of a compiled version of MySQL- python-1.2.2 with Zope/Python under OpenSolaris snv_101b. I installed Zope/Plone (running) and need mysql-python to be compiled with the python version (2.4) that came with zope. I further compiled MySQL 5.1.30 and it is running fine. MySQL-python-1.2.2 actually builds and installs fine: [...] Installed /opt/Plone-3.1/Python-2.4/lib/python2.4/site-packages/ MySQL_python-1.2.2-py2.4-solaris-2.11-i86pc.egg [...] But when I want to test the module with the zope-pyhton, I get this error: >>> import MySQLdb Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ? How to use ZCatalog to create a sitemap

Hi All, I am trying to use ZCatalog to create a sitemap. For that I created a ZCatalog object. In "Find Objects" tab, I selected objects of type Page Template and DTML Document, I selected the permission as "Access Transient Objects". What options should I select for creating a sitemap. Am I going in the correct way? Please advice. I use Zope 2.8 (there is no Plone) Thanks, Roopesh

appending paths in zpt

I have this: tal:attributes="href here/getUserName" in a link that works but I want to append a hard coded extension to it. How would I turn it into this and get it to work ? tal:attributes="href here/getUserName/listview?page=1000" Regards Garry
