problem with commits in SQLAlchemyDA

Hi all, I wanted to use SQALchemyDA with a standalone Zope 2.11 (we only depends on CMFCore). i tried to get it up using easy_install, which is pretty straightforward, once removed the incompatible zope.component package needed in the dependencies. It ends up with the following installed packages (skipping zope 3 components) : zope.sqlalchemy-0.4-py2.4.egg z3c.sqlalchemy-1.3.10.1-py2.4.egg SQLAlchemy-0.5.5-py2.4.egg Products.SQLAlchemyDA-0.4.1-py2.4.egg At first glance, this works well, but the DA actually can't manage to commit any sql requests (I try only for insert in Mysql and postgres but I'm sure it's always true). This is quite an unexpectable behavior for a DA. I think the problem is related to this thread I found on tg-trunk newsgroup : http://www.mail-archive.com/turbogears-trunk@googlegroups.com/msg07302.html There is a misleading comment in the docstring of zope.sqlalchemy.datamanager.join_transaction speaking of a DirtyAfterFlush SessionExtension, which I never seen except in plone code. Finding unused products

Frequent ZOPE crashes

Hello Mailinglist, we've been using ZOPE in combination with the Silva CMS for around four years now to serve our University's homepage. And everything worked fine so far. A week ago we switched to a new layout (for corporate reasons) and now we're experiencing frequent crashes of the Zope servers. Fortunately enough the reconnect themselves to the ZODB but since this is now happening around every five minutes, I'm rather worried that this might permanently damage the ZODB. I have absolutely no idea how this can happen, as we're using the same python, libxml2, libxslt and other module versions as with the old homepage - in fact the new site even runs on the same hardware. We never experienced any problems like these up until now. As far as I understood so far, it "requires" some C modules to successfully cause ZOPE to segfault? Versions we're using: Python 2.4.6 Zope 2.11.2 LibXML2 2.7.3 LibXSLT 1.1.24 Python-LDAP 2.3.6 Setuptools 0.6c9 and a Kerberos Module plus the Silva CMS (2.1) on top. We have four ZOPE servers, each running two ZEO processes and a separate ZODB. The machines all run RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.4. In front of that Apache, Squid and Pound take care of the caching. What we did was to examine the coredump-files with gdb but unfortunately this didn't prove to be very helpful because either things go wrong during garbage collection or some ceval stuff. So basically something trashes certain python-objects at time before. Do you have *any* hinst in how to track down this problem? Or are there any known problems with the versions above? The changelogs didn't reveal any plausible cause for me... Kind regards, Andreas Krasa

Try to cache page segments selectively and then you should identify problematic piece of page. Get raw data (byte array) from flash in Zope

Hello everyone, I have a question about how to get raw data sent by a flash application in Zope (a zope method/function). The flash application uses the method in the link below to send to the server an image (jpg): http://www.zedia.net/2008/sending-bytearray-and-variables-to-server-side-sc… Searching through the internet I have found a PHP example that gets this byte array sent from flash: http://blog.joa-ebert.com/2006/05/01/save-bytearray-to-file-with-php/ They are getting the date form a header called HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA. The question is: how can I get this data on the server side in Zope? Becasue: - REQUEST.form is empty - HTTP_RAW_POST_DATA is missing - there is no other key or value in the REQUEST to indicate the value I am looking for On my local devel machine I managed to find a solution: - using Zope 2.10.3 I have enabled use-wsgi (on) (without apache) - in zope, the method called from flash is something like this: ... v = REQUEST.environ['wsgi.input'] v.seek(0) f = open(join(SOME_PATH, 'image.jpg'), 'wb') f.write(v.read()) f.close() return '1' This solution doesn't work on the production environment - Zope 2.11.4 with ZEO (pound and apache in the front of zope as load balancer and web server). string index out of range

I have been using Zope 2.10.4-final, python 2.4.4, win32 for quite awhile... I recently started a new project using Zope 2.11.4-final, python 2.4.4, win32 and proceeded with my normal programming but I am receiving an error that I haven't received before. If I take both of these out then it will not. Any assistance is appreciated... if I need to provide more information please let me know.

[Formulator] Anyone fixed it for Zope 2.10/2.11?

We have a project where we are using Formulator under CMF 1.X + Zope 2.8. Unfortunately Formulator seems to horribly broken Zope 2.11. persistent sessions with ZEO not working

I'm maintaining a ZEO cluster setup that currently consists of 2 Zope clients and 1 ZEO server (Zope version is 2.10.5.) I'm using sessions on the hosted site and am having trouble sharing them across the 2 servers. I've done a config as described here: http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/1061234337 Everything runs fine, except my sessions 'change' randomly. For example if I output my SESSION data I notice that the sessions ID is not persistent over i.e. 10 page loads. The contents of the sessions also change, of course. Am I missing something here? The central storage of the sessions should fix this if i'm correct, but it doesn't. Is this impossible to do, or is another issue causing this stange behaviour? best regards, Marko

zope 2.10.7 enabling json server PLS need HELP !!!

hello friends VERY VERY new to ZOPE and facing a problem with my final year project : working on a project that involves making an existing plone product json rpc enabled so that i can use it for cross site calls from a Mozilla extension i cant make standard httprequests because of the cross site security issues in the browser the query library (that i have to make json rpc enabled ) works fine with xml rpc in python and using the GET method in the url but i need it to work for json requests i have added this http://www.zope.org/Members/ree/jsonserver2 and tried using several javascript json rpc libraries but still no luck are there any settings involved that i have to do to make the query library json enabled there is also an examples section to it which breaks the ZMI completely in the above package there is a test folder containing a test script to check the working but no clue how to execute it cos in the zmi it goes into a loop asking for authorization if u can pls help me and tell me a solution to this problem it will be just awesome thanks jayakrishnan Nair
