That solved the confusion. I wasn't aware that gadfly support has been removed from later versions of Zope. Should I use a recent version of Zope 2?

Dear all, We had our original website setup on Zope-2.7.0-b2/Python-2.3.2. The website had to be moved to a different server. In order to keep the setup as similar as possible, Zope 2.8.7 was used with Python 2.3.4. There were some issues recently due to which Zope cannot open a connection to a gadfly database and reports it as corrupt with 'bad marshal data' error in the logs. I found this to be a Python problem rather than Zope as the same thing happens when trying to connect the database using Python 2.3.4. The database however, can be opened with newer versions of Python > 2.4. The same error had occurred before in the logs but never caused much downtime. Hence we are considering using a newer version of Python for our website. Python 2.4 is supported from Zope 2.9.1 onwards. My question is should I use 2.9 or use the more recent stable version 2.11.3? Will there be any advantages/disadvantages? Many thanks, Vimal

Working example of SOAP

Hi all, I need to implement a SOAP interface for our Zope website. I was trying to follow the example at http://www.zopemag.com/Issue005/Section_Articles/article_SOAPandZope.htm l , which uses ZSI and guylux's patch for Zpublisher but could not get it to work. Can somebody point me to a working example of Zope and SOAP using ZSI or alternatives. The version of Zope used is 2.8.7. Many thanks, Vimal

need help importing python class into zope 2.11.2

HI I'm new to zope and python, I wrote some basic python class and a test program using this class. The script is working fine when running python from command line. Now I want to uses this class inside zope, I tried to create the script, but it failed with the following error. Line 5: "__init__" is an invalid variable name because it starts with "_" Can I write a constructor with different name? Please advice what is the correct why to import this class to zope Thanks Dganit

z3c.form - custom terms for a radio widget

Hi, I'm trying to override the default terms for a radio widget on a Bool field. My schema and form are as follows: class IBookingForm(Interface): agree_tc = Bool( title=u"Booking Terms and Conditions", ) class BookingForm(AddForm): fields = field.Fields(IBookingForm) So, pretty straightforward. This renders out with 'yes' and 'no' as the values. I'd like this to display as 'I agree' and 'I don't agree'. The docs say that you should provide an alternate set of terms to change the labels, so I have this class: class TandCBoolTerms(term.BoolTerms): trueLabel = u"I Agree" falseLabel = u"I Don't Agree" However, I'm now slightly at a loss as to how to register this terms class for that single field on the form - the docs don't mention that! Looking at the code, I can see the multi-adapter lookup in z3c.form.widget.SelectWidget.updateTerms(), which looks like what I want.
