Logging authenticated users with Apache & Zope
by Ralph vd Houdt 25 Feb '03

25 Feb '03

Hi All, I'm trying to create statistics from a website the runs on Zope behind Apache. * When I use the logfiles from apache te create the statistics I'm missing the authenticated users, the are not defined in the apache logs, they are available in the Z2.log * When I use the Z2.logfile I'm missing the remote IP-adresses, because it only logs the IP-adres of the local apache installation. Does anyone has a solution to this problem? Greetings Ralph

title of a property sheet?
by John Coleman 25 Feb '03

25 Feb '03

I'm working with a ZClass and I need to get the titles of my property sheets. One would think that for item in container.propertysheets.values(): print item.title would work, since title is just an attribute defined in __init__, but that produces nothing at all. I've dug around in the code, but can't seem to find out otherwise. Any help is appreciated. Clearly it's available, as title shows up in the management pages. Thanks, -- John Coleman jcoleman(a)sbc.edu

Question about setCookie()
by Jean-Francois.Doyon＠CCRS.NRCan.gc.ca 25 Feb '03

25 Feb '03

Hello, I just started using setCookie() for the first time, and noticed it likes to put all my values in double quotes! I went to quickly read RFC2109, and I don't see anything suggesting values should be quoted at all. This is a problem for me as it breaks the design specs of a distributed application framework I'm working with that sets cookies without the double quotes. Any way around this? Can I safely alter the HTTPResponse.py code to remove them? Hello, Thanks for the insight, turns out it was generating a warning that I eventually found by trying to run it from the command line. I was using a bit of code I stole off the web :) J.F. -----Original Message----- From: Jerome Alet [mailto:alet@librelogiciel.com] Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 2:52 AM To: Peter Bengtsson Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] IOError adding External Method Hi, On Mon, Feb 24, 2003 at 10:56:25PM +0000, Peter Bengtsson wrote: > "This shouldn't happen, as this is only a warning." > http://mail.python.org/pipermail/zope-collector-monitor/2002-August/000986.h tml > > I.e. it's not expected behaviour. > Write another External Method like foobar.py and contains only. > > def Helloworl(): > return "Hello World" > > Let us know if that caused any problems. you problem is most certainely a permissions problem on the filesystem. you must ensure that the user Zope is run as can read the file which contains your external method. e.g. : chmod a+r externamethod.py bye, Jerome Alet _______________________________________________ Zope maillist - Zope(a)zope.org http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope ** No cross posts or HTML encoding! ** (Related lists - http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-announce http://mail.zope.org/mailman/listinfo/zope-dev )

Page Content as a Form Variable
by Edward Pollard 25 Feb '03

25 Feb '03

I'd like to make an interface to edit the content of documents. I'm using special forms in propertysheets/methods. Now, just sticking document_src within a textarea breaks occasionaly dependant on the code within document_src. The ZMI escapes the souce of the document with < etc. #1) How exactly, in a DTML method in propertysheets/methods, can I get this out of an object? Normally I'd just call the filename, right? But when I'm in a method of its properysheet I can't really do that, I'm already is some sort of object-local namespace. I'm using <dtml-var document_src> to get the souce code. #2) There must be a convenient way of converting all those &lt/&gt etc back into "real code". What is it? I'll pick apart the ZMI in the meantime, but I'm certain someone out there has the answer in their brains already.

RE: [Zope] more ftp-trouble
by sean.upton＠uniontrib.com 25 Feb '03

IMHO, you really should use ZPT instead of DTML if you are using Dreamweaver. You need to set up a PUT_factory external method in the root folder of Zope or the folder you want to FTP to (it can also be acquired). This would be an external method that instantiates the right type. An example of a PUT_factory is in the following howto: http://www.zope.org/Members/glpb/dwhowto -----Original Message----- From: Einar Næss Jensen [mailto:einar.ness.jensen@hf.ntnu.no] Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2003 5:19 AM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] more ftp-trouble when I use dreamweaver, I would like zope to create new documents as dtml-methods instead of dtml-documents when connected via FTP. Is this posible? Or adviseable?
