FTP access with FastCgi Apache

Hi everybody, I have the problenm that after installing Zope with Apache it is not possible to accesss the Zope folders with an ftpclient because there is no python server which handles these requests. What can I do in order to make ftp access possible. Regards Daniel

Xron is useful to give you reports and other complicated tasks, but sometimes it doesn't work when you need manager rights. I guess you could first test your xronMethods and see if they work. If they don't, then you will have to use cron + wget + a protected .wgetrc file to hide the username and password. Perhaps some people will say: "why don't you allways use the second method?" - Easy, I want to keep most of my content inside the Zope DB and also I want to test it on a Windows plataform. Other disadvantage of the second method is that you could forget to copy some files when migrating to another server. Anyway, not always is possible to have what you want. (from the hip without much thought) -- mysqlUserFolder could be adapted easily to postgres since the interface is SQL and the differences there are (mostly) minor.

xml-rpc question

hi, I'm using Zope (2.6.0, Pyth 2.1.3, Solaris 2.7) as an XML-RPC server, and need to use the XML-RPC boolean datatype. I have a test python script, which accepts a single-struct (dictionary) parameter, checks a boolean value passed to it and responds with another boolean value, but I'm having problems with importing permissions. my script, booltest: ##parameters:=param from xmlrpclib import True, False if param['dead'] == True: alive = False else: alive = True return {'name': param['name'], 'alive': alive} when I call the method from a standalone python script, testbool.py: #!/usr/local/bin/python s=xmlrpclib.Server("http://www.myzopeserver.com") p1 = {'name': 'ben', 'dead': xmlrpclib.False} res = s.test.testbool(p1) print str(res) I get a Zope error (bottom of stacktrace returned): ImportError: import of "True" from "xmlrpclib" is unauthorized. You are not allowed to access True in this context for the security settings of the folder that booltest lives, I have set the user to have permissions on: access contents information import/export objects query view is this a problem with security settings on the object or container, or something else? can anyone help? apache - virtual hosts - zope

Hi, we use Zope 2.3.3 and cant upgrade. This version doesnt support virtual host monster!?! We want to use apache on port 80 to connect to zope-http-server. On the apache we use several virtual hosts (a mixture of name-based and ip-based virtual hosts), which refer to different subfolders of zope. I wanted to use mod_rewrite, but therefor i need virtual host monsters?!? What and how can i use instead? (mod_proxy - virtual hosts - site access perhaps??) zclass propertysheets

for some reason, I can get some propertysheet information, but not others: with 'history' being a property sheet of a ZClass, These work: return(context.propertysheets.history.propertyMap()) return(context.propertysheets.history.getPropertyType('recent')) But not this: return(context.propertysheets.history.getProperty('recent')) Any clues will be appreciated Danny

You might look at mysqlUserFolder. I've not used it (yet) but will with my next project. And, yes, it is probably overkill for what you want. If you want something very simple, you can always roll your own.

MS Access Db

How can I access an MS Access database through zope? I didn't find a db adapter that would allow me to do this. Did I overlook something? Thanks, Mark

Oh I forgot to mention, the problem is the "Path" section of my root objects isn't getting used ... It tries /p_/pl instead of /site/p_/pl, as it should ... Session data manager error

I am getting an intermittent error from the session_data_manager object that gives me the following information: Error Type: KeyError Error Value: duplicate key 24438444A0h9Emyt1QA The traceback is below. I have a Python Script named standard_security_header that is checking session data upon entry into certain pages.
