zope <> flash

I'm a newbie to flash, so please pardon any silly questions. What is the most painless way to get data into and out of flash? I've found several xml-rpc documents (and I'm already a xml-rpc fan): http://www.zope.org/Members/ike/Flash-Zope/FLASH_xmlrpc_zope http://sourceforge.net/projects/xmlrpcflash Is there an easier way? I'm hesitant to use the swiftgenerator, as that seems less than ideal. I know flash can POST directly into dtml/sql methods, but can it do anything with the results? Thanks for any ideas! -ed- -- Green Graphics ::: Print and Web Design ::: 510.923.0000

Re: Solution for copy/paste Problem of June?

I "solved" the problem for me inserting obj._getCopy(container) # obj is the original object to be copy&pasted somewhere in my own code before manage_pasteObjects gets called. I know, it's not a proper solution. Is this a bug? RE: [Zope] ZODBC and dictionaties
by Jeff Sacksteder 25 Sep '02

If you want to access the results of ZSQL queries from an ODBC connection, you will have to access them positionally. if your results are in a variable called result_set you can do something like this to list the contents of the first three columns for each row. for row in result_set: print row[0],row[1],row[2] An ugly workaround, but it works. Additionally, the odbc module is single threaded, so if you have a large query that takes two minutes to run, everyone else is blocked until it completes. -----Original Message----- From: Julián Muñoz [mailto:jmunoz@telefonica.net] Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2002 8:21 AM To: Oliver Marx Cc: zope(a)zope.org Subject: Re: [Zope] ZODBC and dictionaties Some people use FreeTDS to connecto to Microsoft SQL Server On Sun, 22 Sep 2002, Oliver Marx wrote: > Dear List > > I need to use Zope with an SQL server, but but but > ZODBC which seems to be the standard DA for SQL server doesn't support > dictionaries. Solution for copy/paste Problem of June?
by Grégoire Weber 25 Sep '02

25 Sep '02

Hi George, Hi Dieter, I saw your post and Dieters answer to a manage_pasteObjects problem (AttributeError: 'None' object has no attribute 'getId'). George: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2002-June/116340.html Dieters: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2002-June/116370.html Did you find a solution for that? I run into the same problem (Dieter: the solution to my former problem we discussed now uncovered this one). The object in the clipboard is the self object ref of manage_afterAdd(self, item, container). I'd like to copy it from container and paste into another folderish object. What I found out (Zope 2.5.1 on Win2k): Adding an additional ob._getCopy(self) without assigning the return value to a variable lets disappear the exception. Funny, eh? <CODE module="CopySuport.py" line="151.." zope_version="2.5.1"> for ob in oblist: if not ob.cb_isCopyable(): raise CopyError, eNotSupported % ob.getId() try: ob._notifyOfCopyTo(self, op=0) except: raise CopyError, MessageDialog( title='Copy Error', message=sys.exc_info()[1], action ='manage_main') ob._getCopy(self) ####### adding this no exception will be rose below ####### ob=ob._getCopy(self) id=self._get_id(ob.getId()) ###### exception here normaly ###### ob._setId(id) self._setObject(id, ob) ob = self._getOb(id) ob.manage_afterClone(ob) </CODE> Greetings, Greg _____________________________________ Grégoire Weber mailto:gregoire.weber@switzerland.org

ZSQL - multiple inserts to multiple tables in one query.
by Dan Jacobs 25 Sep '02

25 Sep '02

Hi All, I am developing my first Zope/SQL application. I'm not a coder by profession (more a sysadmin) so I may be missing something. I have a database which stores information on musical scores. I am trying to write a zope interface to add new musical scores. My schema has several tables and in each table 2/3 fields need values inserted into them each time a new musical score is added. So my question is... How do I do this within one ZSQL method? Thanks, Dan

RE: [Zope] Passing Arguments to ZSQL Method from Python Script

Would something like this work: for user in context.Users.RegistrationInfo.objectValues("UserInfo"): context.sql_users_insert(first_name=user.first_name, last_name=user.last_name, etc.) if user is a dictionary, the zsql arguments would be first_name=user[first_name], last_name=user[last_name], etc. -Scott -----Original Message----- From: Chris A. Bruce [mailto:cbruce@sleeter.com] Sent: Tuesday, September 24, 2002 3:36 PM To: zope(a)zope.org Subject: [Zope] Passing Arguments to ZSQL Method from Python Script Is there an easy way to bind the attributes of an object into the parameters of a zsql method? I am trying to do something like this in Python Script: for user in context.Users.RegistrationInfo.objectValues("UserInfo"): context.sql_users_insert(user) The sql_users_insert takes a bunch of parameters and the "user" object above is a ZClass with properties that have exact names as parameters for zsql method.
