Custom ZClasses absent from addmenu after upgrading
by pmiller＠liverpool.ac.uk 09 Sep '02

I am in the process of upgrading a site on NT from 2.3.3 on one machine to 2.5.1 on another. I copied across the data.fs, reinstalled a few products and everything seems to be working OK apart from the addmenu which stubbornly refuses to list a number of custom ZClasses. They list OK in the Control Panel, existing instances still work and I can copy/paste to create new ones. Any suggestions much appreciated. Peter

RE: [Zope] Problem with sqltest

> I'm trying to use the multiple tag with a sqlvar of type integer. > > When I test the script I am told that the query template could not be > rendered This is probably just a problem that the test tab of the SQL method doesn't allow you to enter the multiple values, it just passes whatever you put as a string. Try it with a single integer value, and if that works then you are probably OK. To test it with multiple values you are going to have to write a little test script for it. -- Neil ********************************************************************** The information contained in this e-mail is confidential and intended only for the use of the addressee. Has anyone got any hints as to how to set this up? We're running with an apache frontend that handles the SSL. Our ZODB has a ClientCertUser Db product installed, but I can't find any reference to it on zope.org or on the web as a whole. Richard

Values in transient object container not persistant?
by Sven Rudolph 08 Sep '02

08 Sep '02

Hello all, I just started using /temp_folder/session_data for our site and found the following behaviour. The default value for "Maximum number of subobjects"=1000 is much to low, because it is reached within minutes. So I changed it to 0 (means infinite). But if I restart the server, "Maximum number of subobjects" is set back to 1000. I think the reason for this is /temp_folder which contains /temp_folder/session_data. What should I do to keep my settings? Thanks in advance Sven

Problem with sqltest
by Oliver Marx 08 Sep '02

Does any body have any idea, why this doesn't work? <dtml-sqltest name=manufacturer_id column=model optional multiple type=int> In short: I'm trying to use the multiple tag with a sqlvar of type integer. When I test the script I am told that the query template could not be rendered File /usr/local/Zope-2.5.1-src/lib/python/Shared/DC/ZRDB/sqlgroup.py, line 101, in render (Object: sqlgroup where) (Info: and) File /usr/local/Zope-2.5.1-src/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 473, in __call__ (Object: <dtml-and>) File /usr/local/Zope-2.5.1-src/lib/python/Shared/DC/ZRDB/sqltest.py, line 152, in render (Object: manufacturer_id) I have tested with 10, 9 10 9 (10, 9) What am I missing? \Oliver -- Oliver Marx TEKK ApS Lyngbyvej 20 2100 København Ø 39 15 80 60

Edit ZClass Properties
by Borislav 08 Sep '02

08 Sep '02

Hi, The problem I'm trying to solve is how to change the values of properties of a ZClass from a python script. Simple assignment does not work, e.g. myZClass['aProperty'] = value I did a web search and found some HOWTOs mentioning a method 'manage_editProperties'. I could not find any documentation about this method in 'The Zope Book' or the Zope help. Is there another place to look for API documentation that I am not aware of? My main question is: what is the procedure to change properties of a ZClass programatically? Thanks. --Borislav

Solution: Hehe... I entered in the form on the UserOptions page in the Time zone field the number '6'. - Why? I was asked in the preferences of one wiki i participate of the time zone delay in hours of their local time (somewhere in the states, dont remember). It was six hours for me (Germany). Why did i enter this value in my personal wiki? - Hmmmm... bored? tired? both? Guess! ;-) BTW, the error has gone after deleting the field. :-) Regards, Florian -- Have a nice day! Re: HTMLDocument & Dynamic Navigation
by Michael Hicks 08 Sep '02

08 Sep '02

Thanks for the detailed response, Jaroslav. The reason I wanted to use the HTMLDocument product is because it meshes so nicely with the ieeditor visual editor (http://vsbabu.org/webdev/zopedev/ieeditor.html - thanks, Satheesh) and *then* wraps the header and footer around the document. Try ieeditor with a DTML document and it gets ugly, because DTML wants the header referenced in the code, which makes problems for the visual editor. Anyway - I fixed the problem. The way my header code used to build nav links for the current folder was by looping through context.objectItems which failed in the context of HTMLDocument. Now I simply loop through context.REQUEST.PARENTS[0].objectItems which works. What I end up with is a really great way for the technically- challenged to contribute to our church Web site using the visual HTML tools built right into IE5.x. Thanks again for the response. I'm new to Zope/Python, and I'm feeling generally confused these days, so it's nice to get pointers when the docs fall short. :-) Regards, -Mike Hicks
