Newbie CMF question
by eric＠spinoza.oit.qc.edu 01 Sep '02

I've created a CMFDefault object of type "Document" within my CMF site. I'm now attempting to use that Document object as I would a DTML document, with no success -- the content of the Document appears to be parsed as HTML and the DTML tags are ignored. Since I'm obviously going about this the wrong way, what's the best way to access DTML content from within a CMFDefault Document? Is there a way to create a separate DTML object or method and then embed this within the Document's HTML? Thanks in advance, -Eric

xmlrpc redirect response
by Marco Aurelio Catunda Martins 01 Sep '02

Hello, When I try to adding an DTML Document by xmlrpc call the following error appear: xmlrpclib.ProtocolError: <ProtocolError for localhost:8080/RPC2: 302 Moved Temporarily> The 302 error code is about redirect response. I think there is no make sense redirect in xmlrpc call, so change zope source. I put the following method at Response class in xmlrpc.py file: def redirect(self, location, status=302, lock=0): pass What do you think about it? Is there any problem? -- Marco Catunda

Not a clue....

I am building/(cobbling together in Python) a Product called "DraftFolder" that holds Draft Documents.... These draft documents are catalog aware and I am trying to programmitcally add a Custom Catalog called "Draft Catalog" that will catalog them inside DraftFolder.... The Draft Catalog has a bunch of static attributes (I havent been able to make a ZClass successfully....) and I have an instance of it in the regular file hierarchy..... What I need to do is get that static instance of the Draft Catalog to automatically install inside of DraftFolder whenever I create an instance of DraftFolder.... I have been trying for about three days now - but to no avail Is there a simple way of adding static Files to an instance programatically? IF it's there and obvious, I am not seeing it.... WPH

Talk about convenience!, I was just about to write a letter asking if there was any way to get a stack trace from xmlrpc errors. Thanks for the patch Dieter!, Derek Basch __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance - Get real-time stock quotes http://finance.yahoo.com

I have searched but don't seem to find anything. Has anyone developed an asset management system with Zope? I have found issue-tracking/help desk stuff, but nothing that stores hardware configurations, software, serial #s, licenses, etc. TIA, Trevor

RE: [Zope] xron on Solaris

Hi, I tried your solution - I created a script that would call the url. When I run the script from the command line, it works. When I run The script from the cron, I get the following error: Your "cron" job on cobweb2 autDel.py produced the following output: Traceback (most recent call last): File "autDel.py", line 3, in ? import urllib, sys File "/usr/local/lib/python2.1/urllib.py", line 26, in ? import socket File "/usr/local/lib/python2.1/socket.py", line 41, in ? from _socket import * ImportError: ld.so.1: /usr/local/bin/python: fatal: libgcc_s.so.1: open failed: No such file or directory Have you seen this before? How did you handle it? Python and urllib, or Perl and LWP. Assuming the prompts you answer in lynx are just form entries, it's simple. Even my feeble Python skills managed to put together a script that filled out all the entries on Verizon's website in order to send my phone a text message: #!/usr/bin/python import urllib, sys params = urllib.urlencode({'min': '8005551212', 'showDisclaimer': 'n', 'Send.x': 'Yes', 'Subject': '', 'senderName': 'Me', 'message': sys.argv[1]}) f=urllib.urlopen("http://www.msg.myvzw.com/results.jsp",params) All the above parameters were just scraped out of the HTML source of the form. -- Mike Renfro / R&D Engineer, Center for Manufacturing Research, 931 372-3601 / Tennessee Technological University -- renfro(a)tntech.edu

Security problem when accessing object instance in a product
by Nicolas Évrard 31 Aug '02

31 Aug '02

Hello, I'm currently working on Maildir product which may provide access to my mails. I've defined a class to access this maildir : from Maildirlib import Maildir class ZMaildir(Implicit, Persistent, RoleManager, Item) : """ Classe implémentant un composant Maildir """ meta_type = 'ZMaildir' security = ClassSecurityInfo() def __init__(self, id, path) : self.id = id self.path = path self._messages = {} self._populate() security.declareProtected('View content', 'GetMailList') def GetMailList(self) : """ Retourne la liste des mails """ lst = [] for i in self._messages.keys() : lst.append(self._messages[i]) return lst def _populate(self) : maildir = Maildir(self.path) mail_p = maildir.next() while mail_p : self._messages[mail_p.msgID] = mail_p mail_p = maildir.next() self._p_changed = 1 GetMailList returns the right list with some Maildir.Message in it. When I try to access the Maildir.Message.headers variable I've got this error : You are not allowed to access headers in this context but I have declared headers public : class Message : security = ClassSecurityInfo() security.declarePublic('headers') Here is the way I try to access headers : http://localhost:9673/nicoe/voir_mail/inbox/voir_maillist where voir_maillist is a ZPT with <TR tal:repeat="item here/GetMailList"> <TD tal:content="item/headers/from">From</TD> <TD tal:content="item/headers/to">To</TD> <TD tal:content="item/headers/subject">Sujet</TD> </TR> Sorry for the long explanation, I hope I don't polute too much the list ... -- (°> Nicolas Évrard / ) Liège - Belgique ^^

Zope or OpenCMS
by class kuiffje 31 Aug '02

Hey list, maybe a bit OT but .. I am looking for a good Open Source CMS. I read a lot about the different systems and will finally make my decision between Zope and OpenCMS. Both look very interesting to me. Did anybody already make a comparison between these two systems ? Thanks, Claas Kuiffje
