problem with z2.log

Anyone, I'm running Zope on a widows NT4 box using PCGI behind IIS4 for SSL support. When I look at z2.log The IP address of every request is the IP Address of the windows NT machine. Is there any way I can get it to log the address of the remote user? I've searched Zope.org and the mailing lists with no luck. Thanks, Steven Grimes

Reasons to not yet upgrade to 2.5.0b4

I've done some testing of 2.5.0b4, and discovered that, as hinted at by the bug collectors, it corrects a nasty problem I've had. I'm just wondering if there are any significant bugs in this beta that I should wait on before upgrading my current 2.4.3 installation. Probably the only interesting things that are used are ExtFile, Photo/PhotoFolder w/ PIL, and ExUserFolder. Are there any incompatibilities? Anything require recompilation? ---------- Keith J. Running Zope as NT Service

Hi all, I'm ready for round 2 in trying to get Zope to run as a service. The problem is getting the z2.py to invoke the -w 80 option. I can start Zope manually with no problem and everything works as it should. Any ideas? z2.py is still in default form. Thanks, Joseph

Which method to generate IDs for objects?

Hi! I am just experimenting with ZClasses and I ran into the following problem: when I instantiate an object this object needs an unique ID. There are some ways to generate this. First of all I thought of the system time as ID, but this can make problems, even though not with high probability. Does anybody out there have a better solution, I think of an ID generation like in a sequence: object_id_001, object_id_002, ... but how can I determine the last object ID? Other (better, more simple) ideas? Juergen

Change z2.py -D # D for Debug to something like z2.py -w 80 # w for www Note that I'm working on linux and don't have start.bat in front of me.
