objectValues(meta_type) in python script
by Gitte Wange 24 Oct '01

24 Oct '01

Hello, I am in the process of optimizing some of my scripts and moving some code from dtml methods into python Scripts. I am trying to find an object in a folder. I know there is only one object with this metatype ('MMM Shop Shopping Cart') in the folder. But this doesn't work: for item in memberfolder.objectValues('MMM Shop Shopping Cart'): shopping_cart = context.getId() return shopping_cart Now I expected to recieve a string containing 'Shopping Cart', but I recieved a string containing 'CD001' which is a product, not a shopping cart. Doesn't objectValues() work in python scripts ? Printable page
by Juan Garcia Garcia 24 Oct '01

24 Oct '01

Hi, i must put in my site a link equals to the one existing in zope.org called "Printable page", but there is a problem. The web pages shown depend on values of variables sent by forms, or consulting a database, ... For this reason i can't put a link directly to the document, i would pass all the variables to show the page correctly. The variables are not always the same, it depends on what you are doing. Anyone can help me? Thanks.

Hello, I have a little problem. I use this function to rename an object in my site (file or folder). It work perfectly with file but I have an error when I try to rename a folder .... I think the error is from "PARENT[0]", so do you have a solution ??? <dtml-let objRename="_.getattr(PARENTS[0], _['idName'])"> <dtml-call "objRename.manage_renameObjects([idName],[newId],getWay(REQUEST.PATH_INFO))" > </dtml-let> Thanks a lot, Johan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >> This email and any files transmitted with it are CONFIDENTIAL and intended solely for the use of the individual or entity to whom they are addressed. >> Any unauthorised copying, disclosure, or distribution of the material within this email is strictly forbidden. >> Any views or opinions presented within this e-mail are solely those of the author and do not necessarily represent those of Odyssey Asset Management Systems SA unless otherwise specifically stated. >> An electronic message is not binding on its sender. VERY Confused!
by Ben Ocean 24 Oct '01

24 Oct '01

Hi; I'm new to Python and Zope, but I'm at a loss to understand WHY this doesn't work! I have this line in my dtml code: <span class="top"><img src="images/top" width=<dtml-var "sizeCalc(1008,size)"> height=<dtml-var "sizeCalc(82,size)">></span> *size* is a dtml method and is defined thus: 1 just the number one. sizeCalc(x,y) is an external method and is defined thus: import string def sizeCalc(x,y): x = string.atoi(x) y = string.atoi(y) y = (x*5) return (x*y) I tried the string conversions because the values are being interpreted as strings (already tested that). I get this error: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: int() can't convert non-string with explicit base and the following: Traceback (innermost last): File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 223, in publish_module File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 187, in publish File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/Zope/__init__.py, line 226, in zpublisher_exception_hook (Object: LockableItem) File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 171, in publish File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/ZPublisher/mapply.py, line 160, in mapply (Object: template) File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/ZPublisher/Publish.py, line 112, in call_object (Object: template) File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/OFS/DTMLMethod.py, line 194, in __call__ (Object: template) File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 546, in __call__ (Object: template) File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py, line 231, in eval (Object: sizeCalc(1008,size)) (Info: sizeCalc) File <string>, line 2, in f File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python/Products/ExternalMethod/ExternalMethod.py, line 274, in __call__ (Object: sizeCalc) (Info: ((1008, <DTMLMethod instance at 88917d0>), {}, None)) File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/Extensions/sizeCalc.py, line 4, in sizeCalc File /apache/ZopeInstallation/Zope_software_home/lib/python2.1/string.py, line 214, in atoi TypeError: (see above) What am I doing wrong? I'm taking this back on the list - it could be useful to others, and someone else might have some better explanation for you... * Ben Ocean <beno(a)thewebsons.com> [011023 21:55]: > >How exactly are you checking the types of the parameters? Why your dtml method should be returning an Acquisition wrapper instead of an int, I'm not sure. I suspect that somehow the DTML method is not getting called in your dtml, and you're getting the method object instead. Try explicitly calling the DTML Method, using something like: <dtml-var "1008, size(_.None, _)"> seb

Re: [Zope] new ZSQLvMethod

>The virtual SQL method allows to put the SQL method into Z class and then >create and use individual connections in each copy of the class, processing >request to them by methods, located in Z class. Wow, this seems to be good news if i understand i well enough. I have a few questions however before i will start to experiment. Does this product gives everybody a separate odbc connection to a database for the duration of the request or for the duration of a session? Does it ask for, or give through an authentication for the visitor at the moment you he wants access to the database, so that you can use for example rowsecurity in DB2? I have a little thingee already, your product is just ZSQLvMethod without the usual .zexp (or isn't it an export file?). That is just a little unusual. Konqueror and Zope don't mix ...
by Perttu Muurimäki 24 Oct '01

24 Oct '01

I've noticed some strange behavior with htmlforms GET -method. They apparently occur only when using management screen with Konqueror. I don't know whether it's also a Zope or Catalog -bug (or a Konqi-bug) but here is what happens: Konqueror: 2.1.2 Zope: 2.3.3 1) When creating boolean attributes to objects with Konqueror and then cataloging them, they won't appear boolean in catalog. They will be strings '1' or 'on' but not 1. Objects created with Mozilla show up 1:s. 2) When making a catalog to find objects of type images or DTML-documents I get too much stuff (Actually it's almost the same list with both!)! Again this seems to appear only with Konqueror. So with my little knowledge on Zope and htmlforms I've concluded that somehow Konqueror doesn't work right with GET-method or Zope doesn't. Anybody else seen this behavior? -- -perttu- Viivi: Wagner, etkö tiedä, ettei raha tuo onnea? Wagner: En halua onnea. Haluan rahaa.

Re: AW: [Zope] Do All Classes Have Default Current Objects? REQUEST.A UTHENTICATED_USER.getUserName()
by H.de.Wit＠SFK.NL 24 Oct '01

24 Oct '01

>Allmost this works: > user = container.REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER.getUserName() REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER method is not advised by the zope documentation: >From your zope installation\lib\python\PRODUCTS\OFSP\help\dtml-funcs.stx: SecurityGetUser() -- Return the current user object. This is normally the same as the 'REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER' object. However, the 'AUTHENTICATED_USER' object is insecure since it can be replaced. >From the book chapter 6, performing security checks: <dtml-var expr="_.SecurityGetUser().getUserName()"> You can retrieve the currently logged in user with the SecurityGetUser etc.. However, i was not able to use this function from within a pythonscript. I am sure somebody else can do that, i am interested in the solution, so if you have one...
