Hiya! this doesn't work for me ... only the folder "images" is a CascadingFolder ... zodbcda and zope 2.4.0b1

I'm installed zope 2.4.0b1 on a Windwos NT box. Though I did not succeed in installing as a NT service I could start zope using start.bat. However adding zodbcda from ZODBCDA-3_1_0b2-win32-x86.tgz (changes.txt mentions version 3.0.3 by the way) resulted in an import error with the following traceback: C:\Program Files\zope240b1>"C:\Program Files\zope240b1\bin\python.exe" "C:\Progr am Files\zope240b1\z2.py" -D ------ 2001-06-27T14:24:27 ERROR(200) Zope Could not import Products.ZODBCDA Traceback (innermost last): File C:\PROGRA~1\ZOPE24~1\lib\python\OFS\Application.py, line 552, in import_p roduct File C:\Program Files\zope240b1\lib\python\Products\ZODBCDA\__init__.py, line 91, in ? You know... index_html could be an image, or anthing that a browser can render, and it'll still work as the default object that zope calls. PostgreSQL 7.1, PoPy 3.0 beta 1, and the ZPoPyDA included with PoPy 3.0b1 works great. I've built them all from source and they work fine with Zope 2.3.[123] on HP/UX 11.00. I've been using the 3.0b1 starting with PostgreSQL 7.1RC2 way back in early April. The database has grown from nothing to 346MB this morning; all data inserted through PoPy in Python or ZPoPyDA. I'm not sure you want to try a beta, but it's been stress tested here quite throughly. This is probably good, as postgres 7.1 is currently not supported by popy. I have delayed uploaded a new version because upstream has repeatedly made "just around the corner' type statements. Hi everybody, I was wondering if anyone knows of a product that gives a possibility to create a threaded discussion it should look a bit like http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-June/thread.html People would be able to discuss and reply directly in their browser. I´ve been looking on zope.org etc etc. but I just can´t seem to find anything. Hope someone can help me with this. Greetz, James

bloody newbie: access to subfolders [from python]

here we go for another stupid newbie question: I'm trying to deal with a subfolder within a pythonscript. I'll have to add to properties and to store a file from an upload form. I tried it as follows--- [id shall be the name of the subfolder and is given by me] container._.getitem(id).manage_addProperty('user',AUTHENTICATED_USER.getName(),'string') container._.getitem(id).manage_addProperty('data',ZopeTime().strftime('%m/%d/%Y- %I:%M%p'),'string') container._.getitem(id).manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addFile(id+'.pdf',context.REQUEST['pdf']) by trying out this, I discovered a access proplem: I'm logged in as admin, but the script won't work. So: What's the problem with it? note: everything I try with "container._.getitem(id)" fails 'cos of access props, but I don't know how to do it alright [I mean refering to the subfolder] could somebody please help me [again]? thx, Christian
