working crontab restart script on FreeBsd

I was trying to do this for a little while so in case anyone's interested, here it is. Most of the code was kindly sent to me by other people so do not blame me for the mistakes. This script(auto) checks ZOPE every 15'th minute and if it does not run, it will restart it. It has been working without a problem on FreeBSD 4.0 after I patched ZOPE's pidfile for LF's. handling date properties in <dtml-if>

Hi everyone, I've created a simple ZClass to allow our Human Resources dept. to post job openings on our Web site. There's a DTML method that iterates through a folder containing all of the 'Job Board Entry' instances and displays them in an HTML table. No problem there. The ZClass has a number of properties including two dates, 'date_posted' for the date that the job is officially available and 'offer_expires' for the date the job opening officially closes. I want to display only those jobs for which the current date is on or after the 'date_posted' and on or before 'offer_expires'. I've tried a bunch of things, but haven't hit upon the winning answer. One page for different selections

Is there a way to make a variable change its value depending which 'href' the user clicks in order to change the contents of the next page viewed? For example, I want to have a page with six links, and depending which of them the user clicks, a variable will change its value so the next page will display that data refered on the link clicked. DTMLTemplate on Zope 2.2.1

I a trying to make the DTMLTemplate Product work on Zope 2.2.1 No luck so far ;( I can add a DTMLTemplate instance but when I try to edit it, I get: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. XMLRPC:XML Compressors - anybody experienced it?

Since XML blows lots of overhead over the line sending large amounts of data via XML becomes a performance question. There exist XML-compressors, for example XMill that address this problem. What I need is integrating such an XML compressor into the Zope XMLRPC mechanism, Before I do something that is already done by somebody else: Did anybody play with XML compressors for Zope or at least have a hint how to do that? thanks

newbie:zclasses within zclasses (down the hill)

I've searched on a solution for this problem for hours. I want to build a site-structure where users can add with help of templates new webpages. One webpage for itself is a ZClass(baseclasses:ZObject, _ZClass_for_Folder, _ZClass_for_CatalogAware, ZObjectManager). ---The formular: ---<form action="second"> <dtml-tree branches_expr="objectValues(['Spam'])"> <input type="checkbox" name="destination" value="<dtml- var id>"> <dtml- var "absolute_url()"> </dtml-tree> The user can decide where to build the webpage(ZClass with metatype 'Spam') In 'second' he can choose a template and then the constructor_site builds it: --<dtml- with "_.getitem(destination,0)"> --<dtml- with "manage_addProduct['Spam']"> <dtml-call "Spam_page_add(_.None, _, NoRedir=1)"> ---</dtml-with> I've also tried -><dtml-with "_[destination]"> and also with not saving the 'id' but the 'absolute_url' in 'destination'. zope needs webdav global access *ON/OFF* feature

Hi all, I think zope MUST have a way to disable webdav access. Running a webdav client on some zope sites I found in almost all of them things like test_html index_html_old and some other forgiven methods that programmers leave on their applications. Depending on what test programmers were doing in this methods one could find a way to do some DOS on does sites, just to begin. I mean, even if the user dont have permissions to edit/save methods, just the fact that he is browsing my structure and viewing my methods is bad for security. I looked at source and the webdav implementation is class specific implemented, i.e, only objects of classes that import webdav stuff and implement it are Published by zope to a webdav client. I tryed to find a *central* switch to disable it on ZServer or ZPublisher, but no luck. I also tryed to find something like domain restriction which could be another way to disable webdav. The solution of disable Access Contents Information to anonymous isnt pratical on a complex site already in production. I'll try to find a way to disable/restrict the webdav access. Any suggestion?
