Creating a DTM Document in a variable folder.

Hello, I don't have any Python experience yet, so who has a solution for this 'problem'. Example: I 've 3 folders a, b & c. I want to create a dtml document in a folder by a form. The folder is a variable in my form. The formis no problem, the form action is no problem. The python script to craete that document is my problem. How can I create a DTM Document in a variable container ? Regards, Martin Koekenberg

Zope 2.8.4 strange behavior

Python2.4.2 Zope 2.8.4 ZODB/Zeo 2.3.4 Mysql 4.0 Dual Athalon processors Linux RH7.3 We have two recent instances in our production sites where Zope suddenly stops responding. It is not a new problem, but we've now been confronted with two clean examples and nothing to blame them on. The problem appears to be independent of load as both incidents were on lightly loaded machines. A check of the logs (Linux and Zope) shows nothing obviously amiss except that the trace log (the old -M log) shows a sudden increase in active requests from the typical 0 or 1 to 1300 or more. In this context an "active request' is total number of requests pending at the end of this request and is computed by post-processing. We front-end Zope with pound and make heavy use of MySQL. Both show a plethora of incomplete transactions. Examination of the raw trace log shows that Zope is continuing to accept requests, but nothing getting done. The raw log date-stamps four internal states for each transaction. The states are Begin (B), Input (I), action (A), and End (E). Inputs are gathered between B and I, outputs is made between A and E. The raw log shows B and I transactions, but apparently no processing is completing. I suspect that nothing is getting scheduled. I am at a loss as to where to begin to track this one down. The failure is spontaneous and apparently not triggered by any readily distinguishable inputs or pattern of inputs. The behavior smells a bit of resource limits or process synchronization problems, but there is not real evidence for either being the root cause. I am not sure what monitoring I should be doing to help locate the source of the problem. Has anyone seen seen a similar problem? Any advice as to how to proceed? --

PHPGateway Issues

Hello. I am trying to use PHPGateway with Zope but I get the following error: '/usr/bin/php' may not be a PHP-CGI program. The result from the program is empty(0 byte). Also, sometimes I get the error 'File Not Found' that is thrown by the browser. Has anyone successfully used this product with Zope and are there documents which cover common errors and solutions? Lastly, I am running on Mac OS X Tiger Server which comes with PHP 4 and I am running Zope 2.7.0. Can I use this copy of PHP or do I have to download and build my own from source? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

unicode problem

Hi, I've created a folder a put some dtml-methods, External python scripts and a Formulator Forms. It had worked fine till I put the Form's xml page the following line: <action>int_bev_feldolgoz</action> int_bev_feldolgoz is dtml method and at the moment only shows the value of REQUEST Having seen the result of this method I wanted to back to edit the content of the folder, but I couldn't continue. The following error message was displayed: Error Type: UnicodeEncodeError Error Value: 'latin-1' codec can't encode character u'\u0170' in position 22895: ordinal not in range(256) What shall I do? I don't want start it from scratch. All dtml-method with unicode characters worked smoothly. Can someone tell me how 'here/content' is translated in these lines? <span tal:define="stx python:modules['Products'].PythonScripts.standard.structured_text; the_text here/content" tal:content="structure python:stx(the_text)"> The structured text goes here. </span> When I use the URL 'www.mysite.org' the above resolves fine, but if I use 'www.mysite.org:8080/mysite' I get a 'Resource not found' when selecting the same link from the homepage of the same site. Is there something I've overlooked? -- John

Epoz interface not showing in my web page...

I have integrated Epoz module into my product director and reboot ZOPE. At first it was alright at first, but I started getting call telling me that all the Epoz module shows is the "save change button". I had a look through my browser and it was alright, but it just display anything besides the botton on some computers... Can anyone tell me what is wrong? --------------------------------- Yahoo! Question about Stepper

Pardon my stupidity but is Chris Withers' Stepper the right thing for me...? I've got a message central that accepts and sends messages. The system has an in-part and and out-part that is quite separate. Then there's third party code that looks a bit like this: <pseudocode> def acceptIncomingMessage(self, message): # add to the queue self.getMCentral().storeMessage(message) # process all (should be only one) items off the queue self.getMCentral().sendAllUnsent() return "cool" </pseudocode> The call to sendAllUnsent() I would prefer if it was done asyncronously in case it takes several seconds. I could accomplish this by having a cron job calling it every 5 minutes but ldeally I don't want to rely on cron for this setup. DateTime mess

hi all! recently i came up here with the intention to fix DateTime#strftime(). while trying this, i had to dig deeper and deeper into the implementation of DateTime and especially the timezone and daylight saving stuff. to be honest, it's completely hacked together :( DateTimeZone.py has one BIG dictionary in it, not a single line of comments. values of this dict are nested lists, among other hackish things (list like usage of a string, with \000 as separator). the methods that use this dict also have no comments/docstrings at all. obviously the guy(s) that originally wrote this, is/are hiding (i know why :) so, there's nobody to ask either... sorry guys, i won't be able to completely fix this for now. i found a way to monkey patch zope to make it work for my case (2 timezones only). my plan is to completely reimplement DateTime, based on python's datetime in my own freetime (maybe around xmas this year) and give it back to the community. once again sry, if i raised expectations on the fix of strftime. regards, juergen herrmann _______________________________________________________________________ >> XLhost.de - eXperts in Linux hosting << Jürgen Herrmann Bruderwöhrdstraße 15b, DE-93051 Regensburg Fon: +49 (0)700 XLHOSTDE [0700 95467833] Fax: +49 (0)721 151 463027 WEB: http://www.XLhost.de
