plone contents error

I have installed - Zope 2.7.0 - CMF: 1.4.2 - Plone CMFPlone-2.0-final I am trying to migrate to zope-2.8/plone-2.1.1, Whats happens that when I try to import the site that run in the oldest version is not making some things, for example, "plone content". After I finished to install zope and plone, I added a new "plone site" from ZMI. Thats Ok, but, inside of new "plone site" I try to add one "plone content". It adds, but when I try to visualize this "plone content", I receive the following error: ----------------------------------------------------------------- Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Basket 0.1 ("New Zope Packaging Regime Product") Released

Basket is a Zope 2 product which allows you to employ the Python Egg format to deploy other Zope 2 products. The Python Egg packaging format is described at http://peak.telecommunity.com/DevCenter/ setuptools . The development of Basket was funded by the "Goldegg" initiative described at http://www.goldeggstack.org . Basket forms the basis for a suggestion of how Zope 2 Products should be packaged "by default" starting in Zope 2.10, so it's likely interesting for existing Product developers. Foundation status update

Hello everyone: We wanted to send an update on the status of the Zope Foundation. We circulated a number of documents to an advisory committee. The comments were excellent and precise. The comments also identified a number of documents that needed to be either developed or updated before we circulate the final set of documents to the community for review. This process is nearing completion. We will send the updated set of docs to the advisory committee, collect feedback, incorporated that feedback and then circulate those drafts to the community. msSql and python

I have a zsql method to which I want to pass and argument. Normally I do it from a dtml method and the use something like this to test for equality. WHERE description = <dtml-sqlvar description type=string>. However, I'm passing the variable from a python script and it won't accept the dtml tag.... what do I put in the equality test? Kate

Zope 2.8 or 3.1?

I'm new to Zope, and I've been playing with 2.8.1, but I really haven't done any real work with it yet. Now I expect to get my new decicated Zope hardware tomorrow, so I have to decide if I should go for 2.8.4 or 3.1.0. Any tips if I should go for the latest and greatest or stick with 2.8? I've also seen comments that running Zope on RHEL/CentOS might not be wise. My test env. is using FC4, but I'm planning to install CenOS 4.2 on the production server. Unwise choice? Regards, Harald

Zope 2.8.4 install issue

Hi all, I am having far more trouble than I should be installing Zope 2.8.4 onto a WinXP machine. After unpacking and installing as per the default settings, when I create an instance and run C:\INSTANCEDIR\bin\runzope.bat I get "ImportError: No module named components.logger" in the Zope2\Startup\__init__.py module. I hacked __init__.py to add the relevant directories to the sys.path but this just meant that it failed further on in the startup process and I can foresee an endless path of path hacking that, I suspect, is unnecessary. I have now installed afresh and am back to square-one. The machine already has another working Zope elsewhere, sat underneath Plone 2.05. Has anyone encountered this before and what am I doing wrong? when sorting using <...tal:repeat subsection python:sequence.sort (subsections,(('title','nocase','asc'),))"> I get the following error: Module DocumentTemplate.sequence.SortEx, line 134 in nocase AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'lower' When I switch the 'nocase' to 'cmp' the sort defaults to sorting by order of entry or something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
