How to require an @ symbol in email form field??

Hello, I am new to Zope; since our webmaster left I'm trying to make small changes to the website. We have a standard registration form that collects information from users (first name, last name, email, company name, etc.) All of the fields are required, except address 2, address3. Great. fine. If the user doesn't fill out a field, they get an alert. But they can fill each field out with gibberish--as long as there is a character in the input, we accept it. Is there a way to require at least an "@" sign in the email field? The powers that be think this would be useful. Here's the form processing code as it stands today. Any help is appreciated. zope.org down

Well, folks, zope.org is down again, because the site was packed without enough space on the device. because the error is relatively subtle, I'm restoring from yesterday's backup, so please check to be sure that everything you've done recently is preserved. To keep this from happening again, we will be adding an additional 40gb drive that should do us just fine until the Data.fs hits 2 GB. I often create an external method for this... em: def url_quote(s): import urllib return urllib.quote_plus(s, safe='') Silly, but it works. HOWEVER, the 'load balancer' will opt for a certain server for a certain URL, in order to improve cache hits. So, for www.contrived-example.com/dir1 it will first try server1, but if it's busy (or down) it will try others. This way, the cache on server1 is more likely to contain objects relevant to /dir1 and thus have a higher hit rate, therefore improving performance. An enforced 'mapping', as you were suggesting, removes ALL redundancy from the site, but would likely provide even better cache hits. > a thought, Have a better one, Curtis

Objects must help ZCatalog by providing attributes and/or parameterless methods. When the object is indexed, ZCatalog accesses the attributes/methods to obtain the terms the object should be indexed for. And the objects must be URL addressable, because they are itentified inside the catalog by their URL. ZCatalog can index any object that satisfies these requirements. You probably must work that your dynamic objects with database contents do that. Dieter

Monitor

Isn't anyone using the medusa/monitor_client.py script to debug their zopes? I can start it up fine and view the sequence of objects I have created, but my question is how do I access the return value of a DTML method? The Zope Debugging how-to is a little scant on the subject. -D

I'm guessing, but suspect the problem is that you are using Expander on a Mac which assumes they are being unstuffed to be used on a Mac (normally a pretty good assumption). I'd try FTPing them to your server in compressed form and then unstuffing them there. If you like Expander and are using a Windows Server, you will be happy to know it is also available for Windows 3.1, 9x, and NT and can deal with many arhived formats.
