SQLSession and 2.1.6

Discoverd the following issue. In version 2.1.4 I call <dtml-call Session> within a dtml-method . I then call this DTML method in my DTML-documents and refer to SESSION. In 2.1.4 the SESSION object was available in the namespace on migrating to 2.1.6 I discovered that the objects created in DTML methods are not added to the global namespace such that they are available in other Documents . So i now explicity call Session right at the beginning of every document -- ########################## necessity is the mother of invention ##########################

Changing file ownership

Using an external python method I am trying to change the group ownership of a directory on a Red Hat 6 server. Here is the line of code in question: os.system('chgrp -R extranet /web/htdocs/clients/test') When run from the command line it works fine or if run as a python program from the command line it works fine, but if run as an external method it doesn't work. An "Operation not permitted" error occurs if I try to do the same thing using the os.chown(path, UID, GID) command in the external method. I'm assuming it has something to do with the permissions that Zope/Python is running under. (user:nobody) Any suggestions or insights about how to accomplish this task from an external method? Howdy everybody. Last night at the Bay Area Linux Users Group meeting I announced that we are going to make ZEO Open Source and thus a first-class feature of the Zope platform. For more information: http://www.zope.org/Products/ZEO/ Some quick notes: o A first release for a very small, qualified group of testers will happen mid-April o General release some weeks after that ZEO (Zope Enterprise Option) turns Zope into a *distributed* transactional object system, allowing people to add processors, machines, and networks to scale their web applications. --Paul

I was running 2.1.1 before, and got the "unpack sequence of wrong size" error. I thought, OK, I'll upgrade to 2.1.6. Surprise! It does not fix anything. :( The funny thing is that I can browse the table structures. (I have tables created in Access.) Just that I cannot "select" nor "create" tables. Has anyone been able to run ZODBC with Access2000 on 2.1.6? Or is ZODBC only good for 2.1.4? Does anyone know where I can get a Win32 binary copy of Zope 2.1.4? Ioan: are you using Access 2000?
