Hi, It seems there is a problem with this syntax : RESPONSE['Content-Disposition'] = 'attachment; filename=%s' % name_of_the_file); Where did you find the RESPONSE object definition ? >>> ngarcia(a)gtlhpmed.paris.sanofi.com%internet 05/04/00 19:15:06 >>> X-Accept-Language: en FR Chalaoux wrote: > > Hi, > > I fixed the problem : > > getPDB method > ============= > <dtml-var "getfiles(REQUEST, REPONSE)"> > > getfiles.py Extension file > =========================== > def getfiles(self, REQUEST['ids'], RESPONSE): > PickleJar = Trinket('/me/foo-ids.gz','x/gzip') > PickleJar.download(RESPONSE) > blah, blah ... > > But now , when I save the file the filename is getPDB (getPDB method is took in > fact), not the name of my downloaded file. Modify download like so: def download(self, RESPONSE): RESPONSE['Content-type']=self.type RESPONSE['Content-Disposition'] = 'attachment; filename=%s' % name_of_the_file); return open(self.path).read() You'll of course have to find a way to get the name of the file there instead of name_of_the_file, but I'm sure that's not too difficult :) -- Nick Garcia | ngarcia(a)codeit.com CodeIt Computing | http://codeit.com

If I may guess, however, it looks like there is another standard_html_header somewhere nearer to the method that is using it. Could this be true? Rik

I have tried just to return a string and that works fine. It seems that Zope cannot find the "self" reference. [rh]You'll have to give your PythonMethod an argument 'self' Rik

AW: [Zope] Problems with manage_clone

But isn't this a security hole? I don't want a user who guesses the name of the method to call the method with arbitrary parameters and do things he is not supposed to do... SQLSession and 2.1.6
by sathya 06 Apr '00

Discoverd the following issue. In version 2.1.4 I call <dtml-call Session> within a dtml-method . I then call this DTML method in my DTML-documents and refer to SESSION. In 2.1.4 the SESSION object was available in the namespace on migrating to 2.1.6 I discovered that the objects created in DTML methods are not added to the global namespace such that they are available in other Documents . So i now explicity call Session right at the beginning of every document -- ########################## necessity is the mother of invention ##########################

Please visit: http://www.zope.org/Members/Duncan/zodbcda_patch The ZODBC adapter actually works fine. It's just that the Test tab does not work. Changing file ownership
by Eric Shuman 06 Apr '00

06 Apr '00

Using an external python method I am trying to change the group ownership of a directory on a Red Hat 6 server. Here is the line of code in question: os.system('chgrp -R extranet /web/htdocs/clients/test') When run from the command line it works fine or if run as a python program from the command line it works fine, but if run as an external method it doesn't work. An "Operation not permitted" error occurs if I try to do the same thing using the os.chown(path, UID, GID) command in the external method. I'm assuming it has something to do with the permissions that Zope/Python is running under. (user:nobody) Any suggestions or insights about how to accomplish this task from an external method? Thanks, Eric

ANN: ZEO goes Open Source
by Paul Everitt 06 Apr '00

06 Apr '00

Howdy everybody. Last night at the Bay Area Linux Users Group meeting I announced that we are going to make ZEO Open Source and thus a first-class feature of the Zope platform. For more information: http://www.zope.org/Products/ZEO/ Some quick notes: o A first release for a very small, qualified group of testers will happen mid-April o General release some weeks after that ZEO (Zope Enterprise Option) turns Zope into a *distributed* transactional object system, allowing people to add processors, machines, and networks to scale their web applications. --Paul
