Can someone help me with the following general questions .... 1.My goal is to use CMF so that it acts like an online newspaper. If I decide to install CMF, do I need my own in-house server? Or can I pick and choose from any provider to install the package? 2. Does knowing some PHP, ASP and perl help? Thanks Frank

Yup, that's what I did. I read somewhere that if you don't increase the pool size, as each request needs a connection object to the ZODB, then some of them may have to wait until one connection is freed by the others, which makes the zserver-threads increase useless... 2 parameters in zope.conf : zserver-threads (main section) : the number of threads (i.e. incoming request) Zope will try to handle simultaneously But if you increase this value, you must also increase : pool-size (<zodb_db></zodb_db> section) : the connection pool size to the ZODB By default, zserver-threads is set to 4 and pool-size is set to 7 (as far as I could read in Zope code). So what I did is that I increased zserver-threads to 10 and pool-size to 15. It works fine for me. Watching our Zope servers, they don't ever seem to be handling very many connections at a time. Where can I find out (and increase, probably) the Max number of connections Zope's serving? (This is Z2.6.4)

The name could change easily enough. How about __bobo_always_allow__ Which can either be: None A List of traversable items A method that takes the path, and returns whether or not it is traversable. Something vaguely like that. That way you could either specify the exact items that start with '_', or have a method determine it on the fly. Wouldn't it be cool if instead of checking explicitly for a leading '_' during traversal, you ran a method "isTraversable" (On SimpleItem for instance), which by default just checks for a leading '_', but could be overridden in a particular class? Dan

Property id clashes with object id?

I just observed something which I really wouldn't have expected. If I set a property on an object, via a PropertySheet, I then cannot add an object of the same id at the same level (and vice-versa). Say I have a folder, to which I add a property named 'draft'. Then I try to add any object (Page Template, whatever) with an id of 'draft' inside the folder. This fails with OFS.ObjectManager.checkValidId complaining that the id is already in use. Is this how it's supposed to work? hi, i have add a new directory in my "Products" directory.. however, when i try to add the __init__.py file , it giver me an error..
