I'm running into this problem with the ZClasses tutorial draft that several other people on this list reported. Curiously, I found no reply with a solution. I followed the steps as described in the draft, and all seems to work as expected until I try to modify or manage a CD instance: In the manage screen of the instance, the "Properties" tab is not visible (although other tabs that I create, like index_html linked to "View" work well), and if I try to set the instance's variables via DTML as described in the draft, the changes have no effect. I get this using 2.0 a1 as well as with very recent CVS versions. I'm using Python 1.5.2. It doesn't matter if I use ZODB3 (using z2.py) or 2 (using serve.py). I tried this with an empty Zope instance, logged in as superuser and following the tutorial step by step. Perhaps this is trivial, and sombody could post a short note to the list. Gregor

sqlgroup sqltest combo - strange optional string behavior?

My apologies gentlemen... I'd search the egroups link off the zope site but it's timing out at the egroups site... so anyhow: I'm attempting to write a search interface for a table called company where the 2 fields recNum and recName are optional - along the lines of the sample in the ZSQL methods howto: :select * from Company : :  :  :  :  :  : Now if I enter recNum=1 and recName='' I get: :select * from Company :where :(recNum=1 : and name='' :) When I'd expect the optional tag in the recName sqltest statement should have removed the (and name='') line in the generated SQL. Any ideas? There is probably something wrong with your httpd.conf setup of RewriteRules. The easiest way to get a roll-your-own Apache system working with Zope is to examine a working system. How to use an existing Gadfly DB from Zope

Hi, I ran the dbtest.py of the Gadfly distribution in the var/gadfly/dbtest dir of my Zope-Installation. Then I created a Database Connection "test" for the dbtest database, the name of the databasefile is test.gfd. The I created a ZSQLmethod with this connection, with the simple query "select * from alldrinkers", when testing this I always get: Error, exceptions.NameError: 'ALLDRINKERS' no such relation in DB When accessing the same db direktly from Python like import gadfly c = gadfly.gadfly("test","dbtest") cursor = c.cursor() exe = cursor.execute exe("select * from __table_names__") print cursor.pp() exe("select * from alldrinkers") print cursor.pp() I get results.
