I do beleive there are some protection mechanisms in the low level implimentation of property sheets, but i'm not sure if they are exposed by the management interface. Not all Zope objects have the methods that respond to FTP requests. For instance, what should happen if you FTP into a SQL Method? Are you saying that you can't get to the _class_ via FTP or an _instance_ of the class? --Paul

Edit ZClass methods with FTP?

OK I have come along with the example and build now my own classes. I have uploaded a DTML-method into the ClassFolder in the Product area. I can't see this method if I log in with FTP. I also don't see propertysheets/ and propertysheets/methods/ , these are methods, right? Is it possible to go to the DTML in the ZClass with FTP at all? With regards, __Janko

Is there an alternate way to set user passwords - other than the standard web acl_users management interface? I kept wondering why I never saw a box to set the user password, then I finally discovered it was because I'm accessing the management interface from a remote system (i.e. not the system Zope is installed on). The web server box Zope is installed on does not have an operating X server, so even if I physically went to that machine, I still couldn't fire up Netscape to set the passwords. There must be an alternate way to do this (without resorting to UserDB or SQL). I only need to enter two or three users. Help! -Bill Randle billr(a)coinet.com

I can't get Python 1.5.1/1.5.2 to compile with thread support, though: rm config.cache rm config.status configure --with-thread make clean make and I get an error in threadmodule.c asking for --with-thread. Silly, maybe I made a mistake somewhere? Interesting aside about my problem getting the precompiled Python binary to work (ie., the bin/python binary provided by the Zope download): As I mentioned earlier, I get a "Command not found "error" trying to run the file.
