AUTHENTICATED_USER.allowed won't do what you want, I think. A now deprecated method that is now replaced by has_role was nothing more than an alias to the allowed() method, so you cannot get any (or much) more information from allowed() than you can get from has_role(). Adding Products through Products

Maybe you should look at ZClasses (by getting the latest CVS version of Zope). The hint helped :) When you add a ZClass to the Methods tab of a Container ZClass (a class derived from ZObjectManager), and add a factory object to the same tab (the latest CVS version of ZClasses does this automatically, way to go Jim), then that ZClass is automatically addible to the contents of the container ZClass. You don´t even have to specify the class on the Subobjects tab. ZClasses are absolutely great. Now, about property sheets... How can I add a PropertySheet that is extensible? I want to be able to extend the properties on certain objects from within a Zope application. I am developing a Template System, which I want to use in, say, a Press release module, and in a Job Offerings module. Either module may want to add it´s own properties. But I don´t want to have to subclass the Template Classes. I just want to treat them like DTML Documents, and inheriting from both DTML Document and ObjectManager creates all sorts of problems, and I don´t want to inherit from Folder either! And about permissions: I´d like to be able to control who can add the newly created ZClasses, i.e. I want to specify the ´Add <ZClass Name>´ permission, and attach it to the methods that create my new object. I also don´t see my newly created permissions on the security tab of any object outside instances of my ZClasses, so I can´t set permissions that are to be acquired from, say, the root folder. Frameset weirdness with Zope 1.11.0pr1

Hi all, This is a weird one. Is there any reason why the following frameset document, saved as a DTML Method <FRAMESET COLS="20%,80%"> <NOFRAMES> <BODY ></NOFRAMES> <FRAME SRC="mini_headers" NAME="LeftFrame"> <FRAME SRC="display?sib_id=15" NAME="RightFrame"> </FRAMESET> Just displays as text under Zope 1.11.0pr1, but shows the frames under Zope 1.10.2? To make things worse, it only happens with Netscape (3, Communicator) and not with Internet Explorer. huh? At first glance, I'd guess that the problem is that you are not qualifying the showcont() method ( but I cant be sure without seeing the actual traceback ). Note that the "magical" namespace binding that happens in DTML does *not* happen in external methods -- in other words, you need to qualify the method yourself: self.showcont() instead of just showcont(), assuming that your showcont() method lives in the same folder. Problem setting up SQL

I've just starting using Zope, and it's looking pretty cool, but I'm having trouble getting MySQL connected. This problem is in both Zope 1.10 and 1.11p1, and I've installed the ZMySQLDA as per instructions. I add a Z MySQL Database Connection, which is connected.
