(Redirected by "ANDREI Fabrice" <andrei(a)ifree-ore.org>) Hi ! I have a little problem to install Zope with some products. In fact, only the ZMapServer module. I installed it on my personal computer (with Debian 3.0), and when I try to install on my server at office (with Debian 3.0 too) I have this error message : PROBLEM(100) : zobd could not import class 'ZMap' for module 'Products.ZMapServer.ZMap I didn't found any reason, because it seems both computers have the same version of Python (2.3.3). Maybe I installed something particular at my home, but I don't remember what. Someone have ever see the same message ? Thanks. SQL wizard compatible with gadfly?
by Jaroslav Lukesh 29 Mar '04

29 Mar '04

Dear all, I have 5 tables and I was import it into gadfly database because CVS parsing is too slow (2 minutes per query at P4-1,5Ghz). I was import that tables into gadfly database, but parsing without SQL is slow too. I was try ZVisualQuery from ZDataQueryKit, but gadfly does not accept "JOIN" sql command. So my question is - which ZopeSQL wizard is compatible with gadfly? Many thanks, -- Jaroslav Lukeš -- Tento e-mail nemůže obsahovat VIRY jelikož nepocházi z virózního systému M$ Windows!

How do I test for file to upload (or not) via REQUEST data?
by John Schinnerer 29 Mar '04

29 Mar '04

Hello, I need to test form data passed in REQUEST to see if there is or is not a file specified to upload. The form element is <input type="file" name="image_file" size="35" value="" /> I tried testing for an empty field like with string and text variables, like so: if REQUEST.image_file != '': But that always seemed to be true even when I left the form field blank. So I lookd at REQUEST and it shows this: image_file <ZPublisher.HTTPRequest.FileUpload instance at 0x89ef9d4> That's new to me... How do I reference the string in that field to test if it's empty or not, *or* do some equivalent test that tells me there is or is not a file specified to upload? Thanks, John S. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Yahoo! Finance Tax Center - File online. File on time. http://taxes.yahoo.com/filing.html

Zope 2.7 on CD-ROM
by Sébastien Georget 29 Mar '04

29 Mar '04

Hi, I'm trying to create a ZOPE cdrom (not a bootable one) to run demo under windows or linux. I found the following doc http://www.zope.org/Members/jens/docs/zope_on_cdrom but it reffers to old versions. Everything relative to the ZODB still works but I have a problem with zope.conf. The INSTANCE and ZOPE variable are hard coded and I didn't found a way to dynamically change them, nothing on the command-line nor in the environment variable. Did I miss something ? I could create a temporary file contaning a goog configuration, but there may be a better solution. thx.

Re: [Zope] Zope Still Crashes Daily
by Murray Pearson 29 Mar '04

Hi guys, OK, I got python compiled with > make OPT="-DNDEBUG -g -O3 -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -DHAVE_THREADS > -DTHREAD_STACK_SIZE=1000000" and I compiled Zope 2.7 and I've familiarized myself with its unexpected new form. I have configured it to open with the ports shifted up 1000 to avoid conflicts with Zope 2.6 which is still running. This isn't a problem, is it? They're not even using the same Python. I also told it to listen only on the internal network address, for security. I can route that out through Apache which will completely eliminate random IIS/script-kiddie attacks on Zope..... right? Anyhow, it all seemed fine until the starting gun: -bash-2.05b$ sudo ./bin/runzope Password: Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/src/Zope-2.7.0/lib/python/Zope/Startup/run.py", line 49, in ? run() [bla bla bla] File "/usr/local/src/Zope-2.7.0/lib/python/ZODB/__init__.py", line 18, in ? import cPersistence, Persistence ImportError: No module named cPersistence So I RTFM'd, and then python setup.py build_ext -if in the Zope source directory... then -bash-2.05b$ sudo ./bin/runzope .....and Zope 2.7 is now running!!! Zope Version (Zope 2.7.0, python 2.3.3, openbsd3) Python Version 2.3.3 (#1, Mar 25 2004, 12:48:50) [GCC 2.95.3 20010125 (prerelease, propolice)] System Platform openbsd3 Thanks for your help, people! I will try migrating my stuff from the old server to the new (it's REALLY handy having both running in the meanwhile.) I'll see if this actually stabilizes it.

Add Property to Image with Form & Python?
by Kevin Jones 29 Mar '04

29 Mar '04

Greetings- (First, thanks to all who responded to my earlier question!) Question: I'm using a form to specify an Image and desired properties to upload. Then I use a Python script to do the actual _addImage and _addProperty. The _addImage works fine. But when I try to use the same script to add properties, I can't get it to work. The only object I can successfully add to is the image's parent folder... Here's what I have so far; the problem seems to be accessing the "id" of the image I created in the earlier lines of code: (Form) <form action ="image_action" ...> <Image: <input type="file" name="file"> <Property: <input type="text" name="author"> <input type="submit" value ="Add Image" ________________________________________________ (image_action method) <dtml-call expr="add_Image(file, author)"> ________________________________________________ #add_Image Python script # from Products.PythonScripts.standard import url_quote image_folder=container.form_images #create the new image image_folder.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addImage(id='', title='', file=file) #add an author property to image created above doc=getattr(image_folder, id) doc.manage_addProperty('author', author, 'string') _________________________________________________ Much thanks in advance!! I'm learning a lot from you all. Kevin

Re: [Zope] Add Property to Image with Form & Python?
by Horak, Karl 29 Mar '04

29 Mar '04

Kevin, I'd suggest treating images as files so you can manage their properties, as pointed our by Dieter. Then your DTML will look something like: <dtml-call expr="manage_addFile(id='', file=form_file, title=form_title)"> <dtml-call expr="_.getitem(getBasename(file.filename),1).manage_addProperty('submitted_ by', form_submitted_by, 'string')"> Form_file, form_title, and form_submittted_by are from your upload form. getBasename() is an external Python method that takes full path-filenames passed by IE (/blah/blah/myfile.ext) and trims them down to myfile.ext. Netscape and Mozilla don't have this problem since they correctly pass just the simple filename when they say they do. # getBasename(filename) import re def getBasename(filename): return re.split( r"[/|\\]" , filename )[:1] (The above is from memory but its close--I can check the sourcecode at work on Monday if its giving you problems. It splits on / or \ depending on the client op sys and returns the last element in the list.) Karl

Superuser and SuSE 9.0
by Bob Wooden 29 Mar '04

29 Mar '04

I have installed Zope using the rpm file (2.6.1-132) that ships with SuSE 9.0 onto my machine. When attempting to access http://localhost:8080/manage, all attempts are refused. Using zpasswd.py to create (and/or re-create) a superuser with a password, all attempts are still refused. User and Security chapter of the zopebook indicates in "$ cd (... where your ZOPE_HOME is... )". I am confused, does zope create a zope home directory under /home? Why can I not change my superuser password to something I know? When install chapter discusses the compile under a tar install, it indicates that a superuser password is provided and the user (myself) needs to write this down to get into zope. If I use the SuSE provided rpm file, how do I find out the password? Please help!
