Run the install script by prefacing it with 'sh -x' on the command line. This will print the shell statements as they execute and perhaps give you a clue as to why the script fails. Good luck. I finally figured out what was causing all my DTML woes. I was inadvertently using my old hacked version of DocumentTemplate 1.18. I had conciously deleted both the .py and .pyc versions of that module then went about my business. Unfortunately, when I later executed a make in one of my directories, make obligingly reinstalled that module. After that point I began hallucinating. - beta 3 won't install

I've tried everything and cannot get b3 to install. I'm on a slackware box, beta 2 installed fine. error message is: Installation Failed! you must have administation privledges to successfully run this installation. I have tried every combonation of permissions to get through this with no luck. I get the same error even when trying to install as root. I am installing into the same directory level as I installed beta 2 into, the dir have the same permissions and were created in the same way by the same user. Any tips? DAve.

- More DTML woes - problems with expressions

In the "old days", I was able to use constructs like:    (this was DTML 1.x). Now that doesn't work. I get a traceback: Traceback (innermost last): blah, blah, blah File /usr/local/lib/automatrix/python/DocumentTemplate.py, line 1375, in __getitem__ File /usr/local/lib/automatrix/python/DocumentTemplate.py, line 1329, in __getitem__ KeyError: .sequence-item.html I then tried "_":    That doesn't work either, but fails in an odd way. The  construct is just inserted into the output stream without expansion. (Again, this is just Z Publisher + DocumentTemplate, not the full Zope environment.) I also tried:    just to make sure my brain wasn't addled. I got the output I expected: ... <musicentry.MusicEntry instance at 826b908> <musicentry.MusicEntry instance at 825a4a0> <musicentry.MusicEntry instance at 826cde0> ... (MusicEntry objects have an html method...) Where have I gone wrong (this time)? - Can't make the DTML example work ;-(

Hello, I tried the example you give about DTML (counter), but I get an error about the line that increments the variable. I don't understand why, as I followed exactly the given directions. - Referring to URL pieces within Z Publisher/DTML

I'm using Z Publisher to publish an object and using DocumentTemplate to render the results. Things were working fine until I tried to build a URL in the output. My template currently contains <form action="" method=GET> but I'm getting a KeyError: Traceback (innermost last): blah, blah, blah File /usr/local/lib/automatrix/python/showcal.py, line 184, in __call__ File /home/dolphin/skip/src/Zope-1.9.0b3-src/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_String.py, line 514, in __call__ (Object: <string>) KeyError: URL0 The document template is defined as a class variable, template, and called as return self.template(month=month, year=year, cal=cal, hint=hint, REQUEST=REQUEST) I've tried replacing  with several different alternatives    but none worked. What is available to me within a simple Z Publisher environment? For now I'm explicitly passing in a value, however the DTML documentation suggests (http://www.digicool.com/site/Principia/DTML.html/DTML.html#41409) that URL0 and several other variables should be available. Or am I getting my metaphors mixed? I'm coming from Frontier, which has NO real lateral functionality. In Frontier, if I want one subfolder to be "aware" of a subfolder clear across the tree, for purposes of rendering links, I have to store ALL link calls in the main directory or subfolder A won't see subfolder Z. - Bug?

I am in the management interface. Whenever I try to edit my top-level index_html, the edit frame gets sent to the URL: index_html/manage_main/ instead of: index_html/manage_main? Then the form doesn't work correctly so the page is effectively not editable. I know how to work around it, but this looks like a bug to me.
