This is how sorting is done. Then, it checks the form for "top" and "current", since these are checkboxes and nothing is returned if the checkbox is not checked. A call to manage_changeProperties does the actual change, a call to reindex_object applies the changes to the Catalog and then the article is previewed by calling index.html. However, the *browser* thinks you're working in the context of /art (or whatever your KMArticleStore instance is called). When index.html is referenced from postit, it is being referenced from /art/1999/10/92831723/postit... so, <img src="image_name"> to the browser seems like: /art/1999/10/92831723/image_name. It actually does know which article you're dealing with, because you are specifically calling the "postit" method on the KMArticle instance at 1999/10/somearticleid. But, postit is designed to take input from "edit". So, it's looking for "release" and "importance" and trying to set a "score" and such. You could make an approve method like I describe above and call it like this: http://mydomain/1999/10/somearticleid/approve I hope this helps! Kevin

Zope Hangs

Having installed Zope 2..0.1 into a RedHat 6.0 machine with Apache 1.3.9, I have discovered that when I type './start' it does not return to the command line. When I attempt to access the control panel via my browser, I do not get the left hand window, the one with the indexing. It simply refuses to load. However, I do get the right hand window - the one with the tabs. I can get back to the command line by pressing 'Ctrl-C,' but then I get a "page cannot be displayed error when I attempt to access the 'manage' page. How do I correct this? Regards, Duncan C. Draft CatalogAware Howto and ZClass question

Hello, I started putting together a Howto on creating a CatalogAware ZClass. I mainly cut and pasted information from this list. The 1st draft can be viewed on <http://www.zope.org/Members/AlexR/CatalogAware/>. If you find inaccuracies or can offer additional information, please get in touch. This howto hasn't been submitted for cataloging yet. The process described in this howto seems to work. New object instances are indexed correctly when created and updated. They are deindexed when deleted. However, I run into the following error when trying to cut and paste an object instance. I'm building KM|NetNews again and while I've been able to tackle some tricky dtml-problems with the help of this list, I've hit a brickwall again (for two days now). I'm trying to create a simple button that will approve my article, that has been submitted to my site for publication. The hierarchy of my ArticleStore is as follows: News add.html (submit form) AddArticle (dtml-method to handle form submit and save contents) 1999 (year for article's submit date) 10 (month for article's submit date) #article1_id (unique_id of article) index.html (view the article contents) edit (form to edit article, sends results to postit) postit (dtml-method to APPROVE article for publication) #article2_id ... The problem is that I do not understand from the code what postit does so that the article becomes visible for the publishing methods, but I do know that untill I put the article object through postit-method it won't be approved and ready for publishing (for those who know KM|NetNews, I've usen the property current to denote approval). So, how can I call article's method called "postit" from somewhere else in such a manner as to make the method work on the desired article and have it approved for publishing? I know this can be tricky to understand without me drowning you with pages of code, but this is the best I could manage. Again, I'm extremely grateful for any hints. Hi. I'm just a newbie to Zope, but I really like it so far. Obvious drawbacks are lack of complete documentation. I've installed the KM|netNews product and really like it. It seems to have all of the neatest features of Zope - Zclasses, factories, product specification, Zcatalog, etc. Perhaps someone out there who is familiar with this product would be willing to create a tutorial explaining how this product "works"? Even a diagram of how the various parts interact would really help me (and others too) get a better understanding of the power of Zope. Anyone got a little free time???? Zooming images

Hi folks, I am working on a web aplication in which users must read a total of 12 cases and for each of them they have to choose an answer from the ones provided, i.e. multiple-choice test. I've followed the ZBook and I am using a similar structure but with a 'Cases' folder and then subfolders. ... /Cases (folder) index_html (DTML Doc) case (DTML Doc) /01 (folder) case_text (DTML Doc) Photos (folder) ... /12 (folder) case_text (DTML Doc) Photos (folder) ... The 'case' DTML document contains the formating and I will use it to render the page of the case to view like: /.../Cases/01/case 'case' will call 'case_text'. But there's a problem with this because the title appearing at the browser is always that of the object 'case'. So I have to do it like: ... /Cases (folder) index_html (DTML Doc) case_header (DTML Doc) case_footer (DTML Doc) /01 (folder) case_text (DTML Doc) Photos (folder) ... /12 (folder) case_text (DTML Doc) Photos (folder) ... And now when accessing /.../Cases/01/case_text 'case_text' will contain: -----------  text contents go here ...  ----------- I liked the first way thogh. Was I doing something wrong? The thing is this cases also contain photos. I would like users to be able to enlarge them. What is the 'Zope' way to do this? I mean, do I have to have two Image objects, small and large? Maybe I could make a function that given an Image object and a height and with parameters would return an Image object with the small image. Anybody knows of some code/docs where I could start? Zope chokes on beeeg XML exports

Zope chokes on an 5,5 MB XML export, but not when it's in ZEXP. Tried exporting both zexp and xml, and then importing both, only XML chokes.
