Structure of website How?

Hi, I've got this idea of a website but being a zopebie I don't know how to structure it in zope. The site is for a company that supply different internet services. The company has several clients. There need to be a general area and then there must be areas for each client. The client must log in and then be transported to his site which lists only the services that the client has subscribed to, client specific news, etc. All client sites must be similar and only differ on authentication and services subscribed. Each site must be private from other clients and it must be possible to differentiate between different users from the same client. Any ideas on structuring? Newbie PARENTS question

Hi there, I'm trying to reference the folder above from a DTML method. Basically what I'm looking for is an equivalent to the the  which will give the id of the parent folder. In the DTML reference I found an explanation of the PARENTS attribute with seems to be what I want but I'm getting errors with both:  and  How do I do this? Also, is it possible to nest calls? I.E. How can I make:  --> or similar In other words how can I make a compound call based on path (or other) variables? Thanx in advance. Chris

Zope and Search Engines

Hi If I am understanding correctly, it is possible to pass parameters with Zope through a "normal" URL - ie a url that does not use the ?name=value format. Does this mean that a search engine robot on the home page would be able to spider to the dynamic pages? If this is the case, it is a very major plus for Zope... Thanks Geoff Caplan

Zope Product Debug Cycle..

My current Zope Product Debug Cycle: Pythonwin: verify no syntax error Start Zope (using start.bat etc) View the traceback on product if product broken Stop Zope. Repeat. This is painfully slow. (akin to bad old days of compile,test, debug, code ...) Is there a better way? I have been experimenting with: Start Zope (using start.bat etc) Start monitor_client Pythonwin: verify no syntax error import/reload Product.myproduct instantiate class try to perform myfolder._setObject(id,instance) View the traceback on product if product broken Check product through browser Repeat. This is somewhat faster. Third option: never tried this... Create classes in Python Then subclass these classes but make them inherit from Zope's classes as well. (Kind of like wrapping my class with Zope) Then pray and debug... Fourth option: Find an existing Zope product which does similar actions (say SQL or whatever) and then see jack hack. hack, jack, hack. This is pretty good because it catches little things like doc strings required for methods to be published et c. (The fourth would be a good one if a cheat sheet is made up and we all can cut and paste) How do the zope experts do their Product development. Is there anyway we can reload a product module when Zope is running? Chui

Here's a suggestion that I didn't think of earlier: Enable logging in the ODBC Administrator control panel. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt. (-1028) ...which is exactly what I'm getting with a certain Access database I'm trying to set up. (A curse on Access! But sometimes that's what a customer wants, alas. A curse on customers!) ZCatalog searching questions

Hello all I'm trying to re-implement the internal policy manual here at work using Zope (it's currently hyperlinked WordPerfect documents), and after demoing it to management there are now two things I need to solve with the search feature. First, is there any way I can search by regular expression or search for part of a word? Specifically, I need to search the content of a bunch of DTML Documents (these only contain the text of the policies and references to standard_html_header and standard_html_footer) for partial word matches. For example, "vac" needs to match "vacation", "vacations", "vaccination", etc. Second, is there any way to use a list of synonyms when searching? For example, a search for "headstone" should also search for "monument" and "gravestone", and likewise a search for "gravestone" should also search for "monument" and "headstone". Am I asking too much of this? Should I be buying a Python book and adding this functionality myself? Should I be using something other than ZCatalog? Should I be using something other than Zope?
