Static snapshot of web view.

Hi all, I wonder if it is possible to take a static snapshot of a Web view of a Zope tree. The idea is to generate a static web site for replication. Installing Zope as ISP

Hello, We are the first ISP in Russia who is willing to set up Zope hosting (one of our clients needs this). Beeng an administrator I've compiled Zope from source, and configured the Apache server to pass queries to Zope.cgi. As I've understood there is no installation procedure in Zope like in any other product, right? Now everything I get is: Temporarily Unavailable The resource you requested is temporarily unavailable - please try again later. (102) failure during connect I've checked everything mentioned in the FAQ, but couldn't find any reason for this. I will very appreciate your help ASAP, because the customer needs Zope in a few days. programatically adding users in zclass instances ??

hiyah zopistas ! ran into a bit of trouble and would really love if someone could help me out a bit.. i made a Zclass 'artist' .. works nicely. i changed the constructor object to add an acl_users folder inside the newly created instance.... worked nicely.. ZServer & Apache

Zope docs say I cannot have WebDAV unless I use ZServer. Does that mean that when I want to have my site at webspace provider and I wand DAV, I have to get a separate computer? Because such webspace provider would most likely run Apache or IIS, and could not run Zserver on port 80 since it would conflict with his standard webserver... -- Milos Prudek

Anurism on list within a list

Zope-artists, Regretably, I have suffered an anurism trying to define a two-variable property in Zope. Such as: Fruit basket: 20 oranges 30 bannanas 15 apples or myProperty has values [['a',20],['b',30]] I have tried marshalling the data using trinkets, and TinyTables, all of which have no good way to get the data in and out of this type of simple list within a list. ZClasses and instantiation

Zopistas, I would like to have some opinions on the following. I've just created my first ZClass, but I find the documentation on them a bit thin (as I've come to expect ;). Anyway, here is my current structure: Control Panel | |--Products | | | |--myProduct | | | | | |--Artist(ZClass) | | | | | | | |-- Track(ZClass) | | | |-- acl_users I've crated property sheets for both ZClasses, and modified the addForm methods and the add constructor to do what I want. (After some 6 hours of struggling with dtml last night - I might be on the verge of creating my first how-to :) Now for the questions: 1. I have a folder called "artists" where the Artist-objects should be instantiated as unique objects. I've managed to do this by copying the Artist_addForm method to the "artists" folder, but I suspect this is not how it should be done. My guess is that the factory is involved in some way, but how anonymous users should be able to access it from the context of the empty "artists" folder is a bit unclear at the moment. 2. I would really like to have two different "properties"-views on the instantiated class, one for the user, who does not need to be able to modify all of his attributes, and one for us administrators, which can be the standard properties view. How? 3. As you can see from the above questions, my knowledge is a bit incomplete. I've read through Zope Content Managers Guide, DTML Reference, and tried to find anything of value on zdp.zope.org. If anyone could point me to where I can find more relevant info and tutorials, I would be grateful. Banging one's head against the wall at 0500 in the morning after 6 hours struggle with basic concepts is not my idea of fun. Python and Java are easier to learn than this :) Regards, Alexander Limi.
