Replacing Documents or Methods contents

To replace contents of a Document or Method I tried this: <dtml-with target> <dtml-call "manage_edit('A new text', 'My new title')"> </dtml-with> where target is either a DTML Document or Method. It doesn't work in any case. No error message, but nothing seems to happen. Where am I wrong? Also, can you make this happen _anywhere_ on your site or just in certain places? If it only happens in certain places, what sort of objects are there? TinyTable incompatible with ObjectManager ZClass (2.1.0b1)

I have found it impossible to add TinyTables to instances of ZClasses that inherit from ObjectManager. Might be because the "Add TinyTable" permission can't be added to ObjectManager ZClasses - because TinyTable uses the old Product distribution? Strange cookie 'feature'

I have no idea whether this is what is supposed to happen, but I just found a strange interaction between Zope and Netscape Enterprise Server. I have a Zope server which is accessible either directly, or via a Netscape Server and PCGI. What I was doing was to set a cookie and then do a RESPONSE.redirect(...) call. If accessing Zope directly this works as I expected, i.e. the redirected page found it had the cookie available and customised its output accordingly. But, when accessed through PCGI, the cookie was never set. I think what was happening was that the Netscape server was interpreting the redirect itself so the client never saw the cookie it only saw the redirected page. ZCatalog same as Index Server?

Hello there. I have a question. Is ZCatalog a heavy duty indexing/searching component, a la M$ Index Server/ASP/IIS combo? Right now I have a test machine running Zope 2.1.0b1 (Win95, p233, 128MB, 8GB) and it is horrendously slow when indexing a few DTML Documents, about 45 seconds for 100 docs. Nesting <dtml-in>

Is it possible to nest <dtml-in> constructs such that the inner structure still has access to the data in the outer structure? My reading of the DTML guide seems to indicate that the answer is no. It appears that the name of the item for iteration is "sequence-item" at all levels. Is there a better way to handle two dimensional data using <dtml-in>? The guide seems to imply that it is possible for the <dtml-in> construct to set up a name for each value in a column. But nothing is said about how this can be arranged. I am calling an external method to get the data. I thought I might be able to return a table from this method and then access the value using <dtml-var> by suppling key names. That doesn't work. I suppose I could try using an expr clause in <dtml-var>. But I get the feeling that there is a more obvious way that I haven't discovered in the documentation. David S. KMMNetNews + Zope 2.01 Crash

I've tried to upload a huge document into a Zclass instance (a KMArticle created by the KMNetNews product) using the Zope management interface and the Add button. According to the class, it should be enable to contain a FILE object, but uploading a several megabyte file inside a KMArticle instance caused: - Long wait while something was being sent from browse to the server (perhaps 20 seconds or more), but no enough for the whole uploaded image to be transmitted in that time. - Loss of all response from the Zope server (and the accompanied Medusa framework). Looking at processes inside Linux confirmed my suspisions that the whole server had gone down (i.e. the process was not running anymore). So, my question is: 1. Did I do something wrong in trying to add a multimegabyte file inside a Zclass instance that was designed to contain a FILE object? 2. If so, what should have I done instead (if I want to link from my articles to huge downloadable files) 3. Is this a bug in KMNetNews or Zope 2.01 or both? Additional information available on request. managing security from external method

Hi, abviously a FAQ, but I didn't find anything on the topic. How can I manage security from an external method? I want no permissions are acquirred and then give permission to Owner and two local roles. I checked <Zope-Dir/lib/python/AccessControl but didn't find any hint. Thanks for yoour help.
