I am trying to use the UserDB package for authroization via ODBC, however the management screen won't let me delete the top level acl_users folder.

Zope Install On Windows

I would like to use Zope on my WINNT 4.0 box with my existing python 1.5.2b2 installation which is in C:\Program Files\Python. What is the best way to do this? I tried down loading the Zope source and running python wo_pcgi.py but it eventually crashes with a : . . . Listing C:\ZOPE\pcgi\Util ... Listing C:\ZOPE\pcgi\Win32 ... As an option, is there a way to get the Zope Windows binary release to use the C:\Program Files\Python installation instead of the Zope python? My motivation for this is that I have installed mxDateTime and mxODBC and other packages in the C:\Program Files\Python directory tree, and when I try to use the packages from the Zope directory, things seem to get confused. Acquisition with External Methods

I'm having some trouble with calling External Methods from DTML documents. I have DTML document "Query" that defines a form with action "View". "View" is also a DTML document containing a call to an External Method:  Ext Method would like to get access to the form values passed to View, but I can't figure out how to do it. There doesn't seem to be a way for ExtMethod to acquire the values and I can't pass them as arguments. any advice? thanks -- -chad

You need to copy the file zope12_cgi.exe to your cgi-bin directory, then rename it to zope12.exe. It sounds like you are copying the actual nt service executable (zope12.exe) to your cgi directory instead of the cgi executable... > > 3. The zope web server doesn't currently run as an NT service - it is really meant as a way for folks to try out Zope quickly and get it up and running without having to fiddle with their production web servers. Though it is quite stable, the built-in server intentionally does not support all the features people would expect from a production server - most folks use the built-in server to quickly get a feel for Zope, then integrate it with their current server once they've decided to use it. That said, a single Zope instance can be run using _either_ the built-in server or your server, but not both simultaneously. Hope this helps! Hi: I recently took a closer look at BoboPOS operation, and I am puzzled: a pack operation doesn't seem to remove obsolete instances (even though it compresses the db significantly.) My applications work as expected, but the db size increases unnecessarily over time. Below is a simple application I use to test this. I would expect that, after a pack, only 1 Timestamp instance would be in the db, as only 1 can be reached from the root object at any time. Instead, I noticed that obsolete Timestamp instances are still present. Can someone tell me why?
