Phil, Unfortunately I can't help you with the first one (sorry!), but I believe I can be of more use with your second problem. If this is the same problem I saw when first using Zope to connect to an Access DB, then you need to go into DateTime.py and edit the timezone information to represent the setup on your computer. For example, take my lovely machine- located in the bleak Central timezone. I went to the Windows Date/Time properties window, checked the timezone tab and saw something along the following: (GMT -06:00) Central Time (US&Canada) Taking this info I went to DateTime.py, found the declaration for the _zmap variable and added the following: 'Central Time':'US/Central' 'Central Time' because that's what Windows is using, 'US/Central' because it was listed in _zlst and made sense (hopefully it makes sense to you too). All seemed hunky-dorey after that. Hope this helps. I can't help but seem to detect the distinct, flowery aroma of FAQ with this question. Does anybody else seem to notice it too? Manipulating dates

This is probably more of a MySQL question than a zope question, but I figured someone here would have dealt with it before. A couple things I need to do with dates, I'm not sure what the best approach would be: 1. Convert dates to/from mysql (yyyy-mm-dd) to normal format (dd/mm/yyyy) 2. Subtract dates to get the interval in hh:mm:ss format. I have done this in mysql by converting them to timestamps, then subtracting one from the other, then converting this to a time: select SEC_TO_TIME(UNIX_TIMESTAMP(EndTime)-UNIX_TIMESTAMP(StartTime)) ... Except once I put this function into a Z SQL Method, it doesn't work. Surely there is a better way anyway. Would I be better off doing them in DTML or in the SQL? Any ideas appreciated. Hi, Zopers, I'm playing Zope with a dialin-line at home. I use slashdot.py in /index_html. It works well. But one thing is that I want that everytime I dial-up to go online, it can update (semi-)automatically the headlines locally. Now, I've to go into /manage, fill in my username:passwd, click on this External Method then click on Try it! then go back to /index_html to see the updates it has made. I've also tried add the Try it! URL(/slashdot_id) into somewhere in /index_html then when go online, I just click once hope it will update, but it does not update. Any easy hacks on this? I'm using win32. --zhaoway P.S. Why I want to do this because http://slashdot.org/ultramode.txt is ultra fast. :) I go online far less than once/hr. Guess what? I want somedays later I could do email in Zope with my browsers instead of using any specific Email client. :) Just like move the hotmail frontend home, no real SMTP server or POP3 server, just perform normal email client tasks. Thrlling! :) I'm really fascinated by Zope's manage interface.

formatting property tokens with Dtml

What's the best way to format token type properties? The best I can do with my limited grokitude of dtml is this:    This outputs like this ['Ambient', 'Drone Rock', 'Beats'] How do I convert sequence-item to a plain string so I can bullet it or whatever? Hi all, Thanks for visiting the site. Hope all enjoyed it. Thanks also for giving me feedback of several problems. I've fixed some javascript thingies and a bad url. Also added a 'how_should_webpage_normally_look' however, on solaris and hp-ux systems the submenus are cut-off :-(. Does somebody knows about the coördinate system on these systems with netscape? I think that's the problem there. But maybe the problem is solved now??? So, if somebody has still some time and experienced at an earlier visit some problems, please check it once more. Newbie: install a Product

This is a pretty newbie's Q: Before I read through the ProductTutorial stuff, I just wanna install the Poll product and/or the Guestbook product to have some fun. After I untar'ed the package into place, and did a Add-Product under the Control_Panel -> Products, I got the open- box-icon-Poll stuff under Control_Panel -> Products -> Poll, then I saw: "There are currently no items in Poll Product", now what? I have not got any change in the Add-list anywhere. And Add-Factory did not wanna work here. Please gimme a step-by-step. TIA. :) I just wanna have some first hand experience on successfully installing a product before I read through the whole tutorial. Does there is exist a tutorial, or can someone provide a brief explanation of how to use ZServer in combination with Apache + Zope 1.10.2 src release?
