Hi all, One of the very first questions I had regarding Zope was how to do variable indirection. I wanted to reference a variable that was actually named in another variable. That one was quickly taken care of by this list, now I have another redirection question: I have a text box that is named based such liked this <input type="text" name="<dtml-var Category>_qty" size="5" value=""> This works beautifully and I end up with a bunch of variables named things like "Config_qty", "Harddrive_qty", etc. I now need to access these variables in the next form. The name of the variable is contained in "Category" <dtml-var Category> gives me the part of the variable name before the underscore. I tried to get <dtml-var expr="<dtml-var Category> + '_qty'"> to work, but that generates syntax errors. Any clues to this would be greatly appreciated. Alas, this is a file system limit, and while we've got some ideas about how to join multiple Data.fs databases together it's not been implemented yet---customer requirements, ya' know. You could always move to an OS which supports larger file systems (since Python on Alpha for example supports 64bit FS support). Or you could do something heretical and store the actual file on the file system as an <oid>.storage or something. This shouldn't be hard to do with ZClasses. This would keep the meta-data in Zope, but let you at least use a 2Gb file store (or more depending oh nhow you sorted this). help with ZClasses

I upgraded to Zope2.0b5, added a product and then attempted to add a ZClass to that product, but I get the error shown below. I went back to beta 3 and did the same thing with success. Both Zope's were compiled from source in the same way. Has something happened to ZClasses? I can add anything else to a new product fine, just not a ZClass. using ZCatalog to search multiple data containers

Something that has been bothering me with this whole ZCatalog thing is how do I search things other than the Zope ODB. More importantly how do I combine a search that works with the ZCatalog with things from databases. Lets say I have a database driven FAQ. How do I put a single search field on a site that finds normal DTML documents as well as parts of the FAQ?

ZWeather?

Hi everyone, I've been thinking that it would be cool to have current weather conditions displayed on our science dept. home page. Getting the current conditions involves requesting them from weather.noaa.gov according to a code that refers to your location. There is already a little Python program that does this via email: http://freshmeat.net/appindex/1999/06/29/930711471.html Unfortunately, I'm a Zope newbie and not sure how to approach this. Obviously (at least it seems to me), you don't want Zope sending out a fresh request every time your page is updated. Is it possible for Zope to cache the results of the lookup for some period of time?
