The doc indicates that by using the ./start, I can launch ZServer in the background. But in fact it put ZServer to the foreground, and whenever I close the terminal window, ZServer quits. Anyone can help? Kam

Can't see traceback for broken product

Folks, A few days into Zope now, and it looks darn impressive. Unfortunately my ISP runs Apache and won't set up the rewriteengine config or recompile to allow authentication pass-through, so I'm trying to set up cookie-based authentication using the etcUserFolder product. Control Panel shows the product as broken; the docs lead me to expect that when I click on that link <a href="Control_Panel/Products/etcUserFolder/manage_workspace"> it'll take me to a traceback. Instead I get the "Z Object Publishing Environment Help" frameset! Weird, eh? I'm a newbie pretty much dead in the water not knowing how to proceed with debugging the broken product if I can't see the traceback ... any help would be appreciated. (running Zope 2.0b1 on FreeBSD in case it matters). Thanks, Tim Washington, DC

Hi (again :) ) Why my root folder doesn't have any name ? I've seen in several docs around the Web that this folder should have a name (ex: PLUTONIA)... Hi I've seen that there is a possibility to upload HTML document directly from Netscape Messenger into Zope! Is it possible to acheive the same operation with other programs like DreamWeaver or HomeSite ? calling a ZSQL method

Hello, I trying to write a general purpose WEB-Form. To accomplish this I use a TinyTable to hold the description of the form, i.e. which fields in which order and so on should be displayed. The idea is to have such a TinyTable for each table in a folder and one DTML-Document in the root folder, which handles all the form-operations. This works for displaying the form. Now I want (have) to take this one step further and want to make a general ZSQLMethod to do forexample an INSERT so I created a ZSQLmethod named insert with the following SQL-Template: insert into  (  ,  ) values  , " ) there is only the argument table defined. EinAusgabe is my TinyTable like this: columns: name label ftype length:int default auto data: "event_id", "Event-Nr", "int", 10,"", "max" "art", "Event-Art", "string", 20, "kino", NULL "veran_id", "Veranstalter-ID", "string", 8, NULL, NULL "veran_ort", "Ort", "string", 40, NULL, NULL when I now "call" insert in my DTML document like   inserting    I get the following traceback: (snippet)  File /u/src/Zope-1.10.3/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py, line 266, in eval (Object: _[name]) File <string>, line 0, in ? File /u/src/Zope-1.10.3/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py, line 150, in careful_getitem KeyError: (see above) If I put "event_id" on the argumentlist then I get  So it seams that the arguments have to be listed. How can I do that in the same way as in the SQL-template. Or is there another way to do it ? Any tips are welcome. Custom form for editing property sheets in ZClasses

I want to provide a custom properties editing page for a ZClass, rather than use the standard form (propertysheets/myprops/manage). I created a method named edit_myprops and created assigned it to a view named "My Properties". The form action is "&URL1;/propertysheets/myprops" and the submit button uses <INPUT TYPE=submit name="manage_editProperties:method" VALUE="Save Changes">. Which all seem to work fine, except that I get sent to the main class management screen after hitting Submit, rather than back to the same page. Can I do anything to make it return to the same page? Actually, I'm lying. It's not fine at all. To make life more complicated, this ZClass is a base class for another ZClass. This second class defines a view to its own property sheet as well as another one for edit_myprops. After clicking Submit in the edit_myprops page, the main property sheet is displayed, with - surprize - the properties from the myprops sheet. But if I click the Properties tab, the same property sheet load again, this time only with the actual properties defined in it. Guess I don't have to worry about this... it will disappear anyway when the first problem is solved. It's just a bit strange. If this isn't complicated enough, I'll see what I can do over the weekend.
