ID's in one XML Document nt unique?

hello amos, since you are the creator of XML documents, I wanted to ask you whether the node IDs in the XML document tree are not necessarily unique. I have a XML document and I try to create an index. I planned of using the node IDs from the tree as my identifiers. But I noticed that I have an ID twice. Yes, it is at a different level of the tree. Is this a bug? any good a to z tutorials?

is there a tutorial or document anywhere that might be able to help me get started? I have been playing for 4 hours with the 'variable' strings, and for some strange reason I think there is more to zope than that. I need a one stop crash course, because honestly, I have worked with Sun Microsystems NetDynamics, and PHP3 before, and cought on really fast, with zope I am just list.. I thought I was an object oriented person too... :) any help would be great.... -chris

I can't seem to change what my ZClass inherits once its created? It its not because I just blind and can't see how, then why is it not possible to change the inheritance after creation?

Quick question on ZSQL methods...

I was writing a SQL method to pull one record out of a database that contains account information for the current authenticated user, and it's not recognizing the  in the ZSQL method: select * from accounts where name = ''; Zope tells me: Error, exceptions.KeyError: AUTHENTICATED_USER SQL used: Could not render the query template! Substituting  with an actual name works fine. Any ideas on how to get this to work? Or am I going about this all wrong? Thanks, John

Getting roles as a list

Stuart, I saw your posting on the list, and I was curious if you know how to get Zope to list the users for you. I have been trying to get a select list of Users with no success. I am unable to use the getUsers() method in a constructive way. Any tips would be appreciated.
