strange: (inside lan) <> winnt proxy server <> apache + zope <> router <> internet the apache server is on same ip segment and same hub as router. I put the apache/zope server on a fixed ip address. When browsing from inside the winnt proxy server to the apache default page there was no problem viewing it. however when I pointed it to apache/zope I got a microsoft client install page. >From the internet I can view zope all day long. From the same hub as the apache server I can view zope also. If I put the the apache server inside the winnt proxy server like so. apache server on (inside lan)<> winnt proxy server <> router <> internet I can view zope without any problems. Has anyone ever had these kinds of symptoms? cj technology.nospam(a)mylinuxisp.com

.htaccess type authentication

I am not clear on how to setup a section of my site that is only accessable via a password (as I would using Apache and .htaccess). I am using the ZServer. I have tried unchecked the View options under the security tab, but this doesn't do it. Can someone give me a kick? -D !(wired)?(coffee++):(wired)

Searching File-objects in a Folder

Hi there, For practice I want to implement WikiWiki in Zope. For that, I for one thing have to be able to see if a certain File-object exists in a Folder. What method can I use for that? I tried several from the ZQR, but nothing works. I also have trouble just to get a list of Files in the Folder. Here's a code-fragment of what I try to do in DTML: <dtml-if "Files.getAttributeNode('<dtml-var file>')"> The file <dtml-var file> exists <dtml-else> The file <dtml-var file> does NOT exist </dtml-if> <P> A list of files: <dtml-in "Files.getChildNodes()"> Found: <dtml-var "_['sequence-item']"><br> </dtml-in> So how do I screw up? dtml-sqlgroup usage question

I am trying to get flexible filtering to work with ZSQL methods. I want to be able to optionally specify a filter in the request. For example, I suppose I have an employee list at http://some/url/employeelist. I want to then filter as necessary by specifying http://some/url/employeelist?lastname=Smith to get all employees with lastname of 'Smith'. It seems that <dtml-sqlgroup> would solve my problem. However, the ZSQL method complains if I do not provide the parameter 'lastname' in every request. How can I avoid this? Creating a List from a SQLMethod

Hi, I've got a page that displays a <select> list based on the return values from a SQLMethod. It works exactly as expected. I have now determined a need to display the exact same <select> multiple times on the same page. The original code to build the select list looks something like this: <select name="Category"> <option>(None) <dtml-in CategorySelectQuery start=query_start> <option><dtml-var category> </dtml-in> </select> I thought I could do something like the following: <select name="Category"> <option>(None) <dtml-in CategorySelectQuery start=query_start> <option><dtml-var category> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('catlist:list', category)"> </dtml-in> </select> And then later on the page do this <select name="category"> <dtml-in catlist> <option><dtml-var "_['sequence-item']"> </dtml-in> </select> Unfortunately Zope returns a Key error on catlist. I believe that dtml-in, like dtml-var, within one DTML method/document, caches retrieved names. So on call to dtml-in SQL_Method_x will actually call it, and a next reference within a DTML method will use a cached copy of that call.
