So are you saying that although Zope cannot serve SSL it can be a SSL client? I have a situation where I am using zclient to try and retrieve a Word Document fromr corporate extranet via https. I get an error. Error adding a Zclass to a new product

Stange problem I can't figure out... I have a Zope installation for my site. It works fine, except I can't add a Zclass to a product. How to change view of all *.txt?

Hi, Is there a way to assign a handler to some objects based on type or name, similar to what Apache allows? For example, I want to have all *.txt files be processed by a certain external method. Is there any way to do this? Currently, I'm doing it by generating links to my .txt objects that are actually calls directly to my method with the object name as a paramter... It works, but it's a hack. Thanks, Robb

Catalog-aware ZClass not getting indexed?

Hello Zopesters, This problem is mission-critical and seemingly non-trivial. If you've written me off as posting FAQs, I beseech you to read on at least one more time ... My through-the-web-defined catalog-aware ZClass works perfectly through the web interface. Now I'm trying to create instances with an external method. These programmatically created instances are being created but are not showing up in my ZCatalog. Now before you shift your mind back into neutral and (if you're feeling friendly) have your mailer auto-send me the answer to FAQ #27b, continue to read on ... As per the comment in CatalogAwareness.py: Note that if your class or ZClass subclasses CatalogAware, it will only catalog itself when it is added or copied in Zope. Question on folders

I'm trying to figure out how to access SQL methods within folders. Here's the directory structure I have so far: dyoo queries sql_booklist (MySQL connection) sql_showTitles (SQL method) index_html I've independently tested sql_showTitles to make sure it works. Wanted: Python/Zope developers. Who are we? We're a small team within the world's largest web hosting organization (525,000 domains served). We see our mission as being a "city planning department" of sorts for the company. We plan for the growth of that community and develop the tools to make the community work through collaboration. Our flagship tool is a Python/ZPublisher based request-tracking system that currently serves about 20,000 requests per week. We use open source software heavily and like to contribute back to the community, as you've seen. We expect to do even more of this in the future. Not only will we pay you to think up neat new stuff and write it, but you can likely give it away. Our team is currently at 5 people, looking to grow to 6 or 7. Our team is headed by a developer, not a "PHB". Two of us are developers, the other three handle system administration, process consulting, training, etc. However, we all do a little bit of everything. We're looking for one strong developer, and one person with some mix of consultant/developer/admin capabilities. We strive to be a closely knit team and the nature of our work requires that we work in the same place most of the time, so relocation to the sunny Boca Raton, FL area is required. Broken products after transferring Data.fs file

I have seen a number of threads that talk about products becoming broken in a Zope installation with no apparent cause. I had a similar experience the other day. I moved my Data.fs file, which included several third-party and custom made ZClass Products, from one server to another. After moving the file, many of the ZClass Products were broken on the new server. In order to fix this, I ended up also moving the complete contents of my lib/python/Products directory tree from the old server to the new one. This fixed everything. However, most of the products that were orginally broken did not depend on anything that was in the Products directory. Here is my best analysis of what might have happened: One of the Products I was using was based on the "Renderable" add-on product which is installed into the lib/python/Products directory. Initially, I did not have this product on the new server. What I think happended is that the abscence of this product caused several other unrelated products to appear broken, even though they did not use "Renderable." If anybody can confirm this through similar experiences, we can probably get the problem fixed in the code. While this is an annoying problem, I am still BLOWN AWAY by how good Zope is. What I didn't mention yet is that the old server was an Intel box running Linux and the new server is a Sparc box running Solaris. I am very impressed that my application and data moved from one platform to the other so seamlessly. It is really awesome that Zope and the ZODB files that it uses are so cross-platform friendly!
