Thanks for helping me solve this one. In the end I did the following: 1) hacked DocumentTemplate/DT_Util.py to include "filter" in the __builtins__ 2) Installed PythonMethods and called pruneTree with parameter 'self' and content return _.filter( lambda x: x.getProperty('pruneFromTree',0)==0 , self.objectValues(['Folder']) ) 3) The new tag reads <dtml-tree name="Outline" leaves=dtcTemplate branches="pruneTree"> Chris McDonough wrote: |If it's something you want badly (and if you haven't already) add it as |a feature request to the Collector on Zope.org. You can do some very powerful things with the lamda expressions, but they very quickly become unwieldy if used inappropriately, so I think people are right to be wary. Having said that, any sort of block structured language has the same pitfalls - e.g. Smalltalk, Self, even Java's anonymous classes could be used to detrimental effect. I prefer to leave this stuff to style and convention ("good practice") than prescribe them entirely. Thanks again, Nick.

WebDAV, Web Folders and collaborative work

I am trying to unravel the mysteries of collaborative document editing via the web.There looks to be a lot of potential in the WebDAV stuff, but I think I am missing a brick from the load: I am happily dragging and dropping documents between my Zope server and my desktop using the 'Open as Web Folder' facility of IE5. This seems to save me from writing an upload page but not much else. What I am looking for is a way to prevent others from editing the document whilst I have it. I thought WebDAV helped with this. Maybe I need to do something with a Version? have I missed the point? Regards Neil

I'm a little confused over this. >From your previous mail I understood that jcNTUserFolder was to be used only behind IIS. It interpreted the REMOTE_USER var passed in after challenge/response authentication by IIS and made this into a Zope user. Now your talking about jcForceAuth and saying that users login using basic authentication with their NT username and password?????? how do I get field names from a query

how do I get the names of the fields returned from a SQL query ? ( I would like to generate stuff using the names automatically) I know they must be available because I can use them directly ! I've tried lots of alternatives of the form <dtml-in "sqlListTable(table_name='personnel')"> <dtml-in sequence-item> <dtml-var sequence_item> </dtml-in > which give me the values but not the names, and looked through lots of the old msgs. Hello, i can't understand why this simple method is not working: <dtml-var standard_html_header> ID of this page:<dtml-var id> <dtml-with QUERY_STRING> New ID is:<dtml-var id> </dtml-with> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> If i call this page with a query string "?variable" i expect to see the id of the object called... but it's not working! confera, zope 2.2, and attachments

With a confera discussion, I can't seem to add attachments. I can enter a file name into the file upload box, and there are no errors, but when I view the message there is no attachment. Am I doing something wrong? -- cary

Howdy everyone! I will soon have a Zope-site ready to go online. How can I make shure that I did everything (concerning Zope) to stop intruders? Where can I find information about protecting a Zope-site? Has anyone had security problems so far? --Ragnar

WorldPilot

Installing a second instance of WPilot results in the infamouse -m error on setting permissions. This occurs regardless of the folder or user folder that WP is installed too. The original installation remains fully functional and well behaved. Running Zope 2.1.6 with wp 1.0.4 and PTK cvs. Any workarounds alternatively, what am I doing wrong. Best and thanks Chris
