anyone seen browsers map '_' to '+AF8-' ?

We're seeing a really strange occasional error crop up in our web logs - periodic requests for an image with an _ in the name (e.g. hdr_left) get mutilated to hdr+AF8-left. Out of the last 400,000 requests, there's been about 110 of these errors. There appears to be nothing much in common in the requests, except that the browser is always a variant of IE 5.0 (not 5.01, 5.5, or 4.0, or anything else). IE 5.0 only makes up 35% of our hits, so it's unlikely to be just random chance. Ones we've seen with it: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 95) Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 95; DigExt; OZEMR1999V01) Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 95; ZDNetSL; DigExt) Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt) Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt; Chariot) Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows 98; DigExt; TUCOWS) Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.0; Windows NT; DigExt) Has anyone seen anything similar? I've searched the web, microsoft.com (ha), all to no avail. new LocalFS version 0.9.5

It's been a while since the last LocalFS release. I wanted to fix a couple of major issues for the next release but I'm a little stuck. I decided to post a minor bug fix release instead. This release fixes the following issues. - Fixed bobobase_modification_time. - Fixed cross-platform bug calculating object id in manage_upload. - Added optional 'id' parameter to manage_upload to allow the caller to specify the new object id. - Added optional 'action' parameter to manage_upload to allow redirecting somewhere other than the default 'manage_workspace'. "Resource not found" error whenever a DTML method tries to access Z Sql Method

Hello Everyone: I have run into a problem which I think is probably a bug, but I can't be sure--since I'm relatively new to Zope. As part of the GenericUserFolder installation, it is necessary to run certain DTML methods which access Z Sql Methods. However, for some reason whenever I try to execute a DTML method in this way, Zope returns the error: "Resource not found". The givens of my case are as follows: I am running Zope 2.2 on Windows 98. I am using MySQL 3.22.34. I installed ZMySQLDA using the Zope How-To: ZMySQLDA on Win32 (http://www.zope.org/Members/philh/mysql?pp=1 ). I am running Zope on port 8080. The Z MySQL Database Connection uses the localhost in the Database Connection String, with no reference to port 8080. In order to isolate the problem, I have experimented with simply trying to access a Z Sql Method from a DTML method, outside of the GenericUserFolder context (such as in the root folder, as well as in a separate test folder). So, I simply create a Z Sql Method called "testSQL", and I execute it to make sure it works, which it does. Then, I create a DTML Method, with the single line: <dtml-return "testSQL()">. And it does not work. Nor does, <dtml-var "testSQL()">. I have also tried changing the syntax, e.g., no quotations, no parenthesis, etc., all to no avail. I had thought that this might be a permissions problem, so I turned on all of the permissions for both methods; as well as assigning proxy roles, etc., but still, nothing. I have also experimented with the following, all to no avail: trying this on the Zope version that was released before 2.2; using different versions of the libmySQL.dll ; and installing the RDB.py patch. I also looked in the usual suspects (low on hard drive space, memory, etc.). The Zope Error reads: Resource not found Sorry, the requested Zope resource does not exist. Zope "hangs" on Add Document

Hello, I have this problem, it happened for the first time & I can't explain it. I create a folder under the root zope folder. In this I want to add a dtml method (or document). I get the add form, enter an id and a title, click "add" and zope just does... nothing. Anybody got any idea what this could be? I use apache w/proxypass, Zope 2.1.6 on Linux on a celeron 300 with 192 MB of RAM, and I have not changed a thing since I last used zope. Ideas? Guesses? A simple restart doesn't help a bit. Using the latest checkout on 2.1.4 1. Mailboxes on the IMAP server with a hyphen in their name do not display 2. FAQ Wiki and What happend @ O'Reilly Conference

hello, I'm working on quite a large java project and have been pushed back into ZOPE remission :( but I did have a chance to goto the O'Reilly Open Src Conference where I saw some pythoneers :) , lots of perl mongers :( and some fellow Zopistas. One of the things, that I'm not quite sure has been talked about was a small BOF on ZOPE. I will let it be up to DC to talk about the BOF in full if they want to but I ran into an instant problem that I'm trying to tackle over this weekend. main problem -- lots of mis-information and mis-communication. <stream_of_consciousness> One of the fellows there was from france and he had a problem w/ the ZOPE vernicular (Acquistion, Products, DTML Method, etc... ) I believe, I hope! this will result in some renaming schemes and maybe some changes in the basic ZOPE approach for newbies. to make things easier by having CONTENT, and TEMPLATEs is one approach. but the one that really really killed me was being in the lecture for the Content Mgmt System for saloon.com. they basically use a mixture of mod_perl, html::mason, java, xml and oracle for there entire publishing system. It is actually farily primitive.. and could have been easily tackled w/ ZOPE and forethoughts XML tools! but instead of having problems with the vernicular (which was indirectly mentioned.. he believed that ZOPE would take a python genius to extend... not quite how true that is, but its definetly a feeling when you first start out, or evaluate the product) he mis-interpreted focuses of Digital Creations nad ZOPE community. He thought that ZServer was written by Digital Creations. And if you didnt spend as much time as I have reading the mailing lists, you may misconstrue that the XML tools that are being worked on now are a DC/ZOPE effort (which isnt true at all, a majority of it is coming from the Community and Forethought). but.. XMLDocument was written by DC... so I could kinda see that the lecturer thought ZOPE was 're-inventing the wheel' as far as it came to basic tools, ZServer was concerned. this is not true. so, how I plan on aiding this (please contribute) is developing a FAQ for ZOPE this weekend, in my spare time. I hope it generates a 'one stop of FAQs' .. this is being addressed by ZDP (and I would use the ZDP) but I believe its kinda hanging off the zope.org and the 'general purspose - ZOPE' FAQs should be represented on the website. if you've answered a question more than twice, please put the question on the FAQ Wiki and then it can be addressed. zope.org does need a refactoring but I believe FAQs probably can not wait. and the lack of structured information is hurting ZOPE quite a bit. its fairly unorganized, mainly because it has been (click on Members:) a victim of its own success. so, if you've made it this far, step over to FAQ Wiki - http://www.zope.org/Members/runyaga/ZopeFAQs/FrontPage what is needed now more than anything is Questions, for the Wiki. what questions to newbies or product evaluators need to be more intrigued by ZOPE. what general information is asked over and over again in the mailing lists. the point of this is to be fairly short and concise. ANN : ZAnnu a multi-agencies searchable directory

Hello, I've uploaded a first working version of ZAnnu. At the moment ZAnnu is an ugly thing ... and ... a multi-agencies searchable directory (people and organizations) based on MySQL. This is a first try to learn & experiment Zope & ZSQL while making a product i could use in a real project. So it will be improved and have a better design in the near future. It's easy to use by only putting a <dtml-var rechercheBoite> tag (sorry for the french, it will change soon). problem with rss

hi, I am currently experiencing a problem of which I am not sure it is related to ZOpe directly. I have created a DTML method that creates an RSS file for my.netscape.com, which seemed to work fine. (my test version is currently at http://m945.afk.de/m/news.rss.dyn) Now that we have some german umlauts in our headlines the my.netscape validating parser (http://my.netscape.com/publish/help/validate.tmpl) complains about non UTF-8 characters. When I change the XML encoding type to ISO-8859-1 the problem still persists. I suspect that Zope silently sets the encoding type to something different. My DTML method looks like this: <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Content-Type', 'text/rdf')"> <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?> <!DOCTYPE rss PUBLIC "-//Netscape Communications//DTD RSS 0.91//EN" "http://my.netscape.com/publish/formats/rss-0.91.dtd"> <rss version="0.91"> <rdf:RDF xmlns:rdf="http://www.w3.org/1999/02/22-rdf-syntax-ns#" xmlns="http://my.netscape.com/rdf/simple/0.9/"> <channel> ... </rdf:RDF> when I try to change the dtml-call to set the charset to ISO-8859-1 Zope produces the "<html><head></head>" sequence again. Important hint: -------------------- At the third screen of the wizard where you select the columns you MUST select at least one column as 'Primary key' because Znolk needs the PK to identify the record to be edited.
