howto force rendering of a dtml doc

Hi, having a structure like FolderA DocA FolderB DocB I try to display DocA from within DocB using <dtml-var "FolderA.DocA"> which basically works, except that HTML code from DocA is not rendered but printed as plain ascii (e.g. I can see the <br> statements as these 4 characters). Is there a way to force rendering? Should I use ZODB or not ?

Hi, we are currently planning to create a multimedia database and are investigating different solutions. I'm pushing toward a Zope based one, especially for the permissions needs we have, but I was wondering if ZODB can handle our needs or if we should store multimedia files directly on the file system. Our needs are to store hundreds, and possibly thousands of MPEG2 and MPEG4 (generally short) video movies, MP3 audio files, JPEG images, etc... Altough most of the files will be in the 1 Mb -> 10 Mb range, some could be larger, e.g. some Gigabytes. For each file we also want to keep some data: author, subject, encoding, description, keywords, domain, etc... I see 5 solutions: 1 - store both files and their associated datas in ZODB 2 - store files in the filesystem and datas in ZODB 3 - store files in the filesystem and datas in an RDBMS (use Zope only for the presentation of files and datas) 4 - store files in ZODB and datas in an RDBMS. 5 - don't use Zope at all because it's not appropriate. While I'm pretty sure I can design something more or less working like the 1 above in a few time with a few multimedia files and datas, please could you tell me what seems the best solution to you in the long run ? IMHO the 1 (if Zope scales well) and 2 are best, but we may as well use the 3. 4 doesn't seem natural to me, and I personnaly exclude the 5 ;-) Another question I wanted to ask: does Zope have a limit on the size of uploaded files, given the fact that we may want to upload files as large as some Gb and that we will use a linux filesystem not limited to 2 Gb per file. Massive FTP troubles

Design Question

>From a performance standpoint I'd like to know how to best implement this. Speed is important: I have a comma delimited file that I imported into a (Python) dictionary. This may not be the best way to do this though. Maybe just nested lists would be better? The comma delimited file will only need to be updated annually. So it's pretty static. Original line from file: 1234, This list describes this code My decidely backwards dictionary: {1234: ['This','list', 'describes', 'this', 'code']} I have a set of codes 2 - 6 characters long. A string of varying lengths (usually 3 - 10 words) describe the code. I will need to take a paragraph of text and determine the most appropriate code based on key words from the paragraph that match up to code descriptions. I was going to do this in DTML but 15,000+ codes (even using a BTree folder) is painfully slow. Anyway I pickled the dictionary and it's just over 1.3MB so I thought I'd use an external method to read the pickled object, pass it the paragraph and test for the correct code(s), then return a list. Is this the most effective way to use Python/Zope for this situation? XMLDocument manage_edit from DTML

Hi, I am trying to create a new XMLDocument object and then stuff some data into it - all from DTML. I can create a new default XMLDocument with: <dtml-with "manage_addProduct['XMLDocument']"> <dtml-call "add('testid', 'testtitle')"> </dtml-with> After I create the new XMLDocument, I would like to do something like: <dtml-call "testid.manage_edit(data='New Data for the XMLDocument')"> The stumper is, this call doesn't throw any errors, but it also doesn't change the data! Do not Use ZDebug

Hello All, Do not use ZDebug if you are using sendmail tag in zope. I faced this problem and was frustrated by it. When I installed ZDebug my sendmail use to send only From and Time stamp through the mail. Sendmail was unable to send the mail Subject and mail Body. It took me two days of frustration to figure that out. I had many installed products so this kind of debuging was difficult for me. Hope some one can fix this problem soon. CatalogAwareness is broken on 2.2

CatalogAwareness in 2.2.x doesn't follow the new ZCatalog traversal standard - it uses absolute_url() to get the url it will give to the ZCatalog, and ZCatalog now wants an absolute (non-virtual) path. In practice, this means CatalogAware stuff won't work in conjunction with SiteAccess-based virtual hosting.
