DTML Doc and Python scripts and aq_parent

Hello all, I'm trying to wrap my head around acquisition once again. Each time I think I get it, another curve ball gets me. If anyone has any pointers I would appreciate it. I have the following structure: Root + FolderA + Folder A1 DTML_Doc w "Really Nifty Title" + CommonStuff + PythonScript inside of DTML_Doc, there are several lines of code that look something like this: <dtml-with CommonStuff> <dtml-var PythonScript> </dtml-with> In the python script I have the following print context.title # Prints 'PythonScript' print context.aq_parent.title # Prints 'CommonStuff' print context.aq_parent.aq_parent.title # Prints Folder A1 ???Huh??? I think I understand the reason you get FolderA1s title attribute because it is the container of DTML_Doc and thus is the aq_parent of CommonStuff in the namespace. But, then how does one pull attributes such as the title from the caller which in this case is a DTML_Doc? How does one get a handle on the object that called a script? structured-text perfomance problem

Hi! I try to render a lot of HTML-text using: <dtml-in "getHTML()"> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml> where sequence-item is single paragraph of HTML. If i do this, the text isn't displayed correctly. The end of array returned by getHTML() not displayed... it looks like this: <p><DIV ID="COMMENT"><P ALIGN="JUSTIFY"><SPAN><FONT COLOR="Fuchsia"><I><A HREF="346,0" onClick="gotoLink(this)">См. комментарий к статье 37 Конституции РФ</A></I></FONT></SPAN></P></DIV></p> <p><DIV ID="COMMENT"><PRE></PRE></DIV></p> <p><DIV ID="COMMENT"><A NAME="348"></A><P ALIGN="CENTER"><B>Статья 38</B></P></DIV></p> <p><DIV ID="COMM ^^^^^^^^^ here it breaks When the fmt=structured-text is specified for dtml-var tag all text displayed correctly, but it takes too long time. Is there some documentation that would help convert a Zope application to a zope product. I am not really sure what files a zope product needs and so on...

Building Zope w/ Sun Forte (rather than gcc)

Has anybody attempted to do this? I'm finding that even though I specify CC, CXX, put the Forte directories ahead of /usr/local/bin in my path, Python is still falling back on gcc to build Zope. Where can I modify this behaviour? Our Sun rep tells us that we can kiss performance goodbye using gcc... Since we have Forte anyways, I'd like to try it out. thanks, Paul. -- horbal(a)atips.ca

XML-RPC over HTTPS size limit

Hello, I'm not sure which mailing list this topic is more suitable in, so I'm sending it to the general list. We found a problem while using M2crypto 0.06 with Zope-2.4.2. We're calling a Zope extrenal method on another matchine (same configuration) through XML-RPC and we noticed that once the content-lenght of the HTTP request gets larger than 4096 bytes the calling function hangs (Zope hangs; the server Zope still works fine). How can my Zope site be accessed outside

Hi, I set up the zope on my machine where my IIS server works. When I created the new homepage on zope(http://www.nautilus.org:8080/) and changed the security property that this page can be viewed anonymous, I can only view this page inside my work place but cannot view it from outside place such as at home. I know our IIS server use port 8000. So can any one help me to figure out this problem? Many thanks..... AUTHENTICATED_USER reverts back to Anonymous User

Hi there, This is what happens 1) User enters site (REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER == "Anonymous User") 2) User logs in when accesing a "secure" page. (REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER == "myUser") 3) User goes to page that is available for Anonymous Users but which is rendered differently for logged in users. Page must now render as if user is logged in, but does not because REQUEST.AUTHENTICATED_USER == "Anonymous User" again?? After doing some reading it seems as if this is a problem with the way HTML authentication works (Zope does not receive a browser authentication challenge or something like that). Is there a way around this other than using cookies or url mangling? Thanks Etienne

setRow syntax Q

Using TinyTablePlus for the first time. So I have: testtable - email* timestamp I want to overwrite NULL for timestamp in each row. <dtml-in emailtable> <dtml-call expr="REQUEST.set('tID', ZopeTime().toZone('EST').timeTime())"> <dtml-call "setRow(email=email, ID=tID)"> </dtml-in> And get: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'setRow' is not defined ..and... <dtml-call "testtable.setRow(email=email, ID=myEID)"> Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: Results instance has no attribute 'setRow' So how do I rewrite the current row?
