Hi! I'm using Homesite. I tryed many other options and chose Homesite (with FTP, using Macromedia FTP & RDS tool). Its great for editing DTML code (doesnt have problems opening files with no extension). For Python code, I use external methods and edit them on the ActiveState PythonWin Environment. The relevant RFC2617 says: "A client SHOULD assume that all paths at or deeper than the depth of the last symbolic element in the path field of the Request-URI also are within the protection space specified by the Basic realm value of the current challenge. A client MAY preemptively send the corresponding Authorization header with requests for resources in that space without receipt of another challenge from the server." Howover, browsers are not obliged to (and some popular browsers such as IE5 do not) volunteer authentication credentials but re-present the request with the credentials if the server issues an HTTP 401 response challenge for authentication. When your user makes a request with a URL outside the sub-tree protected by a previous authentication challenge the browser, quite rightly, does not submit the credentials for an unrelated URL. This decision is fully justified given that Zope doesn't then challenge for credentials if they aren't supplied. Using cookies may be your best solution as you can challenge for the cookie at one level in your sites URL hierarchy but stipulate the 'path' attribute of the cookie so that it is returned for accesses from any point in URL hierarchy. I'm not a user myself but presumably the CookieCrumbler Product may be of use here.

automatic link builder

Hello, Does anybody know of a product or extension that allows for easy automatic link builders? By this I mean, I would like <a href> tags to be automatically generated based on a couple of simple parameters, at the very least obviously the name of the object. I guess something that looks for the object and builds the tag ... This would have the major benefit of considerably reducing the likelihood of broken links. The contained grep expression says to search the file for the string "myfunction". If you are lucky enough to know which directory you need to search, you can economize a bit and just use grep: grep "myfunction" *.py (which is easier to remember!). This, of course, is not specific to Zope, but applies any time you need to find string references in a large tree of files. Unfortunately, the fact that you don't know this probably means you're not using Linux/Unix, so this may not be so helpful. jcNTUserFolder imports users, but not user groups

Hi: I want to build an intranet where different users will have access to different things. I have installed jcNTUserFolder so that I don't have to enter the users twice (first in my NT domain and then in Zope) and it works fine. I have some user groups defined in my NT domain, and I would like these groups to be the roles in Zope, so that I don't have to define these groups/roles twice. Does jcNTUserFolder import the roles from the NT groups? If not so, would it be possible to build a product that does this (I mean, are there python functions that can access to the NT groups)? Locale support in STXNG since 2.4.0

Dear List, in the changes.txt of the zope 2.5b announcement I read that the locale support in STXNG has been broken (since 2.4.0). Does that mean it is supported in zope 2.5b now. What do I have to do to get it work in zope 2.4.3 if not. Can I deactivate STXNG in 2.4.3? At the moment it is not working in my 2.4.3 on win98. Thanks for your reply, Elena
