Reset security?

OK, here's a newbie question if there ever was one: I think I inadvertantly locked myself out of one of the folders of my website-- that is, I somehow don't seem to have the ability to view the ZMI management screens for a certain folder (and all subfolders) and more. I can get into the ZMI for all other folders, just this particular one has a problem. Is there any way to get myself ZMI rights for this folder again, or do I have to blow away the whole directory and recreate it? --dave

WebDAV: word opening htm-docs readonly

Hi, the story continues. I had the chance to log the dav-comminication between a word-client and IIS-server, where the readonly-problem does not occur. By looking at that log I see one major difference: When requesting the LOCK the IIS answers with: HTTP/1.1 201 Erstellt Server: Microsoft-IIS/5.0 but Zope answers: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Server: Zope/(Zope 2.4.3 perhaps that's the problem. Editing ZClasses - Hole in Documentation

Okay, I just want to point out a "hole" in the documentation that is consistent among the various "HOWTO's" and other documentation, such as mukhsein's "Build a searchable Job Board." They all provide a way to create and add objects, but don't go that last mile and provide any guidance on who to _edit_ the properties in a ZClass. The problem with ZClasses is that the properties have to be accessed through the propertysheets. That creates an extra hrutle for the developer in creating a _complete_ system (which, of course, includes the ability to edit what was created). Some of us have products we would like to roll out that require that users (including managers, owners, and yes, sometimes even anonymous (if your organization can handle that)) to edit the ZClass instance once it has been instantiated. I'm still hunting for either documentation or an example that has this capability. In a few instances, I have seen people say it is "trivial." It may be, once you find out how. Unfortunately, there is still some smoke and mirrors here. The solution isn't obvious to the casual developer. If someone can prove me wrong, I would be thrilled to know about it. Best, Ron

I think you overlooked the fact that we are talking about Microsoft SQL Server and not about MySQL. For MS SQL Server, I think you have two options: - ZODBCDA and an ODBC driver for MS SQL on your linux box - ZSybaseDA: should work as well, but I'm not sure which versions are compatible with each other and which are not. Both SQL server and Sybase use and understand FreeDTS. In Zope itself, once you have the right database adapter, you can use ZSQL methods and so on as Chris described below. Hi, i would solve this problem in the Proxy tab of the script. There, you must select the Manager proxy role and save the changes. With the proxy roles you give the selected role to the user when accessing this object, so an anonymous user could access to the acl_users folder. Hello, I am implementing a self registering form for new users to gain access to zope. Users should fill in some data and a python Script assigns them a password as well as domains and roles. Or what is the same , the script creates a new user. When testing the Python Script I was logged in as me with manager role so everything worked fine, but if someone with no previous login wants to create a user, he is prompted to provide a login and password. The problem is that they cannot access the acl_users folder (since they are no users and obviously the have no permissions) . What could I do to make this work?
