Zope Database error

Hi all, I have recently upgraded to Zope 2.4.2. Installation was fine and so was adding the products. The problem occurred when viewing the database. The copy was OK but when viewing the CMF portals, the portal skins did not contain any basic data. The generic, no_css, images, content, control, nouvelle folders are all empty. When I create a new CMF portal they are as they should be. I have tried exporting and importing the required folders, but they same problem occurs but are present in the original database, my custom folders are also present and work fine. Any ideas? Editing a ZClass via DTML

Does anyone have an example "editForm" that I could use to figure out how to edit an existing ZClass instance? I know I have to go through the propertysheets, but I'm having trouble getting the object in the first place. Assuming I have an HTML Form page with Action="my_zclass_edit", with a propertysheets called "entry_info" then... <HTML> <HEAD><TITLE>Edit the ZClass</TITLE></HEAD> <BODY BGCOLOR="white"> <dtml-with "getObject(REQUEST[id])"> <dtml-call "propertysheets.entry_info.manage_editProperties(REQUEST)"> <dtml-call reindex_object> # it is also derived from CatalogAware... </dtml-with> </BODY> </HTML> ... should work, shouldn't it? A Really Smart Form Chain

Does anyone have an example to share of a multipage form chain or wizard that allows use of embeded back and next buttons or hyperlinks, and allows the user to freely move between pages without clobbering previous input? Is formulator a good choice for doing this? The docs do not seem to talk about such a scheme. I've searched the howtos and lists and none of the examples found seem to live up to this standard. Thanks, and I'll post what I get to the list, and do a how-to if it's really nifty. Thanks! Add ZClass Item to Folder from Python?

All, Is there any way to add a ZClass to a folder using python only? I have been able to do this with dtml by calling the xxx_add dtml method in the ZClass like such: <dtml-with "manage_addProduct['Feedback']"> <dtml-call "Feedback_add(_.None,_,NoRedir=1)"> </dtml-with> I have added the NoRedir (as mentioned in a zope article) to prevent the redirect. Manage-clone and anonymous role

Hello, I like anonymous users to add postings. For adding postings I use the Zope Book python-script with proxy-role manager ->zeit = context.ZopeTime() ->id = str(int(zeit)) ->exhibit=context.manage_clone(container.exhibitTemplate,id) ->exhibit.manage_changeProperties(title=title,ersteller=ersteller,erstellung sdatum=erstellungsdatum,email=email,text=text) But the anonymous user always gets: File Script (Python), line 11, in addPost File C:\Zopa\lib\python\OFS\CopySupport.py, line 333, in manage_clone (Object: Traversable) File C:\Zopa\lib\python\OFS\CopySupport.py, line 414, in _verifyObjectPaste (Object: Traversable) Unauthorized: Add Folders What could be the problem?? ZClass instance with an other ZClass definition

Hello, I have 2 product and each contains a ObjectManager ZClass. The second product is a generic Tab management (ZMultiTab) I just made (and will relase whan this bug is over) and it works fine when instanciate on root (i can create an instance and call her. etc . No problem). First product is Yihaw (folderish objects). Now i want this second functionality incorporated in my first product to allow several tab management (ala ZMI) in each folderish instance. So i've put a ZMultiTab instance in my Yihaw ZClass definition. I can go to the ZMultiTab view method (within the Yihaw definition) and it works fine. Product 1 (Yihaw) |--- ZCLass1 |--- ZClass2 instance A Product 2 (ZMultiTab) |--- ZCLass2 Root |--- ZClass2 instance B (works fine) |--- ZClass1 instance (calling ZClass2 instance A fails) So the problem is : When i call or test or use this ZMultiTab object in a Yihaw instance <dtml-with ztab> <dtml-var index_html> </dtml-with> It fails because it asks for login (even if i'm manager) and fails with an Unauthorized in ZopeSecurityPolicy.py if accessedbase is containerbase: raise 'Unauthorized', ( 'You are not authorized to access <em>%s</em>.' \ % cleanupName(name, value)) I suspect some misunderstanding from my side with how to call an ZClass2 instance (within a ZClass1 definition) from a ZClass1 instance. Strange thing is i've already done that with a NFGnav instance without any problem. Any idea or tip will be more than welcome. Zope 2.4 object/data problems

Hi all, I am encountering a really bad set of problems with Zope 2.4.1: After a period of normal behavior, during which I was editing and testing python scripts and associated DTML objects, Zope suddenly stopped accepting edits to a script. (Deeply frustrating, since I was just a couple of hours from finishing a project I've been working on for days!). Furthermore, it was impossible to delete and reload this script. Nor could I load the script under another name. The server returns a "data missing" or "connection refused" message when I attempt to upload this script. (You might think the server had gone down, except that other files work okay before, between, and after such attempts). I've also run into what must be version problems between Zope 2.3.3 and Zope 2.4.1, with similar results (which is why I bring it up). It seems that objects which I loaded or imported into Zope 2.3.3 do not work properly when Zope 2.4.1 is started -- I get "data missing"/"connection refused" messages for files and whole folders, when I attempt this. I tried this most recently, because downgrading to Zope 2.3.3 was the only way I could get the script I mentioned above to load into the Zope site. Unfortunately, this script doesn't run with the Zope 2.3.3/Python 1.5.2 environment, although I can't really figure out why -- it should be legal code in either Python. So I reverted back to 2.4.1 -- but then entire folders gave me these errors, as I said. Is it normal for the object system to be so incompatible between versions? I can understand that there are differences between the performance of the files and whether the scripts actually run, but I'm surprised to find that the data actually gets corrupted. (If indeed that's what's happening). I find it odd that the problems seem to arise when loading particular scripts. Am I dealing with size or other limits on the scripts? Anyway, here are some excerpts from "events.log" showing some of the errors I'm encountering. I'd really appreciate it if someone can clue me in to what's going on and how I can get around it. Finding constructor

All right, with the kind help from Chris Withers, I'm stumbling forward. Now I have a new problem. In one product, Parsing, I have this line: self.manage_addProduct['OFSP'].manage_addStep(id=name, title="Step") My wish is to put an object of class Step in my folder of class Parsing. I have defined a constructor for Step: class Step(Folder): ...snip.... def manage_addStep(dispatcher, id, title): "Add a Step to a folder" s=Step(id, title) dispatcher.Destination()._setObject(id, s) and I have put the manage_addStep as a constructor in __init__.py in my Step product folder. However, when I run the Parsing code above, I get the errors: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: manage_addStep so for some reason, the manage_addStep is not known. Why could this be? Indexing: ZopeSplitter and numbers

We'd like to be able to have numeric-only fields that are searchable using TextIndex (eg. ISBN, telephone numbers, post codes, ...). We're just wondering what the logic is behind ZopeSplitter (and ISO_8859_1) rejecting words that only consist of numbers. Richard
