Selecting an attribute out of a DB2-Table Type "Timestamp" via ODBC I get an Error Error-Type: Value Error Error Value: Invalid Value. How can I circumvent this Problem?? Peter Klauberg

I'm running 2.4.3beta... are there any known bugs in PluginIndexes/ZCatalog? I'm having major problems with the ZCatalog (portal_catalog) failing some DateTime range searches; only works properly if the DateTime is a "whole day" (earliestTime()). Structured Text with Images -> enabled!

hi folks, I just figured out how to use images in strucured-text with syntax like "alternative text":img:image.jpg Because i never read how to do that anywhere (nor on zope.org!) i feel free to tell you that simple modification to the zope source. Goto $ZOPE/lib/python/StructurdText/ folder. You see some files that contain "WithImages" in their names. As i saw that i simply tried to tell the StructuredText.py file to use them, and not the others - and it wooorked. well now the only thing todo in StructuredText.py is: change source (around line 90 ) to: import HTMLWithImages, DocumentWithImages, ClassicDocumentClass and in line 96/97 to: Document = DocumentWithImages.DocumentWithImages() HTMLNG = HTMLWithImages.HTMLWithImages() thats it. so....am i the only human beeing who figured that out? i'm shure i'm not, but why did no one of the "big" zope freaks/programmers advised us? (im rellay _not_ into python. i can "just" read :-) and know some basic programming structures..) ....or is that the way of zope => see and try !?? ;-) (i'm rather new to zope/python...) a truthful puzzled but happy oli keller P.S.: that worked with zope 2.4.2 and 2.5.0a2 P.P.S.: i want to extend the :img syntax to accept "parameters" to adjust the alignment of the image. any advise/suggestion what syntax to use? what about just implementing :img-right and :img-center? thats probably not the way the structured text authors would go...wouldn't they?

Can't add objects to Folder-like product

Hi All, I'm trying to create some simple products. One of them starts like this: # Parsing.py from OFS.SimpleItem import Item from OFS.Folder import Folder from xml.dom import minidom from Products.Step import Step from AccessControl import ClassSecurityInfo from Globals import InitializeClass from Acquisition import Implicit from Globals import Persistent from AccessControl.Role import RoleManager class Parsing(Folder, Implicit, Persistent, RoleManager): -- Here comes the rest of the class -- I can create new objects of type Parsing. These objects also know that they are folders, so I can (through the web interface) put new objects within them. However, when I try to do this in my Python code, the troubles begin. LocalFS and 2.4.x

I was having no luck running LocalFS in 2.4 As a result I looked at the source code, and after some experimentation discovered that ts_regex which comes from ts_regex in the Zope distribution was causing this product to fail. As regex is depricated in the Python 2.1, will a replacement to ts_regex be written, or ts_regex modified? I was under the impression that ts_ meant Thread Safe. Perhaps re in Python 2.1 is thread safe already and so it would be okay to use it? I prepared a patch to make it work, but I don't know if there are any hidden caveats and I should follow a different approach? ZSQL insert: None, '' and null behaviour

Hi, Can anyone give me a good reason why an object with value None, used to insert data into a database inserts the text string 'None' rather than a NULL value? It seems to me that None is pretty much equivalent to SQL's NULL. I found an excellent document, http://www.zope.org/Members/jshell/ZSQLMethods-InsertingData, which explains how to get things to work (use type=nb and optional in the sqlvar tag) but it doesn't work for values of None, only empty strings. I am now going to "fix" all the code I have but I would love to understand why I need to (in my opinion) code around this. If it makes any difference I'm using Red Hat Linux 7.2, Python 2.1.1, Zope 2.4.2, PostgreSQL 7.1.3 and psycopg from CVS. I get the same behaviour on FreeBSD, Python 2.1.1, PostgreSQL 7.0.3 and psycopg 0.99.7 (IIRC). Thanks, Matt

installing a .diff file

wtf, Getting MySQL working for Zope is a tramatic experience, I think I need therapy

So here is what I have tried: I installed the Python-MySQLDB mod, but was using an old version of python, then I upgraded python and re-installed it. then I banged my head against the wall trying to figure out how to use my python executable and not Zope's. Finnally figured that out (basically undocumented) So then ZMySQLdb showed up as functional but gave the following message and restarted the server whenever I tried to use it: WARNING: Python C API version mismatch for module _mysql: This Python has API version 1010, module _mysql has version 1007. I have no idea what this means, so I tried making a symlink between a directory in my lib/python and lib/python2.1 directories to the directory containing the Python-MySQLdb .so file and using the Zope provided interpreter (to no avail). It can't find the module. I think one of my problems may also lie in that I don't know how to uninstall the old python, I didn't really upgrade, I just installed the new one and overwrote the python executable, with the new one, I know this probably wasn't too smooth, but this is a learning process. NEway, any help would be GREATLY appreciated. And if any Zope Dev's are reading this. PLEASE make MySQL and PostGRES connectivity standard with any Zope installation. Thank you Jacob Singh
