I am a Newbie programmer. I started programming in Python a few weeks ago. I have written one succesful tic tac toe program. I assume I can learn Zope and Python at the same time. If this is wrong please let me know. I just downloaded Zope 2.4.3 It installed, or so it said, but I can't seem to find the start button. Is building basic web web pages in Zope easier or harder than Writing code in Python? Any good Tutorials for complete begginers to Zope and web page building? Thanks John Q. Zope and MOOs...

Okay, what with roles, and other things (as well as CMF and everything entailed there) it seems like it would not be too hard (though take some time) to implement a WWW-based MOO (i.e. similar to DU-MOO, or similar Java/WWW-based MOOs). I have a python method called modDate in my Root Folder: d = context.REQUEST.PUBLISHED date = d.bobobase_modification_time().Date() return date and reference it from my standard_html_footer as <dtml-var modDate> Only now I realize that this is not all that useful as so many of my pages pull in their content from other objects. So how about a better question: Anyone know how to find the modification date for a composite page? Hi: I was thinking of putting a "Last modified:" line in my standard_html_footer, but I don't (yet) see how to get the modification time of the document or method that is calling standard_html_footer. Oh wow! I think you may have solved my problem. If what you are saying that I can just separate code from httpd.conf into a file, then WOW! That's it! I'm gonna try that now! So in short, I can just put the mod_rewrite part into a file and put include in that particular virtual host.
