Deletion problem

Hi I'm trying to delete an object in the ZODB database. I try: " <dtml-call "zmovie_images.manage_delObjects(ids=zmovie_id)"> " zmovie_images is my subdirectory and I know zmovie_id is the correct id of the file I try to delete (I tested it). However, no deletion is done and there is no errormessage whatsoever... Can anyone help? Thanx Maarten Demont Zope-newbie :o)

dtml-if question

Hello, I am looking to search a SQL database for variables that may have been passed by a webform. Basically, when a user submits a userform, there are checkboxes that can or cannot be checked, and I would like to check the results back for the existance of these variables against the SQL database. An example would be... <dtml-in sql_method_that_returns_all_values> <dtml-if <dtml-var important_column_that_may_exist_also_as_a_passed_variable> > Yes, this was passed. <dtml-else> No, it wasn't passed </dtml-if> This is the logic that I am seeking, but I get a syntax error every time I try this. Does anyone out there have any suggestions? Jason

Variable number of arguments

I'm having troubles passing a non-specified number of variables from a form to a method in one of my products. The (simplified) method is like this: def manage_editAction(self, *arguments, **keywords): "Prints values" print len(arguments) for arg in arguments: print "arg:", arg print len(keywords) for kw in keywords.keys(): print kw, ':', keywords[kw] And the corresponding dtml is like this: <html> <body> <form name="form" action="." method="post"> <input type='text' size='20' name="name"> <input type="submit" value="Change" name="manage_editAction:method"> </form> </body> </html> But this results in both len(arguments) and len(keywords) being 0 (I've tried with only one of them (*arguments or **keywords) as well). If I change the method to this: def manage_editAction(self, name): "Prints values" print "name:", name it works as predicted, the value of 'name' is printed. So why does it not work with a variable number of arguments? Hi For once a nontechnical question: Does someone know about publicly accessible sites _powered by Zope_ which deal with Arts or with Architecture ? I could need some showcases to get people working in those domains interested in Zope (and pictures always help more than words ;-) Thanks --- Flynt

I looked myself for a native product for Zope (Python inside) which would be GIS enabled, but didn't find. Maybe one day I'll try develop one :)). But you still have a big resource links here, where you can find something youi're looking for. http://www.spatialhydrology.com/freedownload.html. Maybe you have more time then me. I found also some links of people intending to develop a zope poduct, but is still just poetry :)). If you want an really GIS enabled website, try Apache:theotherport for cgi-bin/MapServer.... --ugly but working (see a demo at 'http://www.retezat.ro/retezatmap/index.html') I'm designing also a similar solution. If you want just some rasters interlaced with points, try MapIt (www.mapit.de) not GIS, nut you can simulate one :(. Images have to be stored also as resampled files for zoom in&out :((. Heard about Grass+Grasslinks+PHP (), but you have to be a GIS Grass enabled user look @ http://www.geog.uni-hannover.de/grass/grass_addons.html You can search java- based solutions, I cannot help mach here, sorry. testing for NULL

I am messing with TinyTablePlus which has NULL as the value for one of the ID column. How do I test for NULL? <dtml-in expr="testtable.getRows()"> I have tried... <dtml-if "ID==''"> <dtml-if "ID=='Null'"> <dtml-if "ID==Null"> <dtml-if "ID==None"> I don't know if NULL is a string, a non-entity or what? Building Zope w/ Sun Forte (rather than gcc)

Has anybody attempted to do this? I'm finding that even though I specify CC, CXX, put the Forte directories ahead of /usr/local/bin in my path, Python is still falling back on gcc to build Zope. Where can I modify this behaviour? Our Sun rep tells us that we can kiss performance goodbye using gcc... Since we have Forte anyways, I'd like to try it out. thanks, Paul. -- horbal(a)atips.ca

Question about tree tag.

Hi everybody! manage_changeProperties not failing when using incorrect propertysheet

manage_changeProperties, when called on a sheet that does not contain properties specified in manage_changeProperties argument, does not throw an error. It seems to execute succesfully, but the properties do not get updated. At least for Zope 2.4.3. Example: Two propertysheets, "Elvis" and "Priscilla". "Elvis" contains property "age". "Priscilla" does not contain property "age". propertysheets.Priscilla.manage_changeProperties(age=20) will execute without errors, but it will have no effect at all. I believe that it should not execute and that it should throw an exception/error. -- Milos Prudek
