Hi ZopeGODS, I am happy and understand acquisition when applied to acquiring objects above the current directory. I have an application that manipulates lists /Mgr /RenameDocID /Rename /Delete /Lists /List1 /List2 /List.... I have succesfully implemented tools like Rename, Delete, New that create and manipultate lists is the Lists directory. However being a tidy minded sort of programmer, my Mgr folder is starting to get bloated - I do hate scrolling :( I thought it might be a good idea to include the tools in a Tool folder ie /Mgr /Tools /RenameDocID /Rename /Delete /Lists /List1 /List2 /List.... I can call the Rename method using <dtml-var "Tools.RenameDocID( _.None, _)"> fine. Problem arises that my rename process is to parts, I call RenameDocID which has a form to display the oldname and capture the new name. How can I then define the action location in the form? Ok, I've narrowed down the circumstances a bit. zope server dies

yes I have also faced that problem of stopping the server automatically. I have to restart it again. Is it possible to restart zope server if it is stopped.??? I am using Red Hat 6.2. postgres database. any solution ???? subrahmanyan

There was some talk from Jim or Paul about supporting the creation of ZClasses anywhere, not just inside a Product. I would _really_ benefit from this feature. Can't open file via Python

Hi, I want to open and read a file via Python; but whether I try to do it via a Python method or an external Python script stored in the Zope extensions folder, the result is the same. I'm using this code for a file name I pass in as a parameter: data = open(file, 'r') return data ...and I get this result: Error Type: NameError Error Value: open The Python method has a proxy role of Manager and so does the DTML script which calls it. The same thing happens when I try read or readline. I know Python methods are limited in certain ways; but external scripts? Please help Thanks Geoff Armstrong

I've installed zope on OSX and it seems to be running fine, but I don't have a username and password. I tried /usr/local/bin/python2.0 zpasswd.py u=me p=password but zope still doesn't let me in. thanks tom

Tracker Product available ?

Hello Zopers, is there a Product called Tracker like the issue tracker seen on the Zope homepage ? If I search Tracker AND Product, nothing similar is found. Is this product closed to Zope ? mysql da broken product

Hi, I am trying to install the ZMySQLDA v. 2.0.5 . I untar the file, restart zope, and then do not have the product available to add. I go to the products list under control panel and click on the product because it says its a broken product. Any help would be appreciated! Debugging MySQLDA

Hi Yet another MySQLDA newbie question :-) Is there a way to get some debug information from MySQLDA? My problem is that select * from mytable always produces nothing from a table containing data (verified by talking with the mysql server directly). It doesn't matter if I test it via the test method on the connection or via a ZSQL method. Please help yet another MySQLDA newbie :-) /P
