<dtml-tree> and ZCatalog

ZCatalog + dtml-tree was asked a few months ago, but I didn't see any answers in the archives. Apoligies if I've misssd some. I have a Catalog which holds books, which have an author attribute. Several books may have the same author name. I'd like a dtml-tree that looks like: + Shakepeare Hamlet Measure for Measure - Sylvia Plath - A.S. Byatt (that is, a 2-level tree, with the first level being author name, and the second level being the books. There are no levels beyond 2) Can anyone suggest how to script the DTML tag to show this? Have you set up your Access Database as a System DSN? Time for a mini-HOWTO: Jfarr knows that I did this a lot when I first started with zope. I kept bugging him for help :) I'm on WinNT4 SP6a: First, select Data Sources (ODBC) from the Control Panel. We want to add a System DSN. After selecting Add under the System DSN tab, we get a lovely 'Create New Data Source' dialog. Highlight Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb) and select Finish. This brings up yet another dialog box asking questions: ODBC Microsoft Access Setup. Fill in the blanks: Data Source Name: Think of this like a zope id. I used something like bmsprofdb for the 'Business Media Services Profiles Database'. Description: Uh. I think this deserves it's own HOWTO :) The group of buttons labeled Database is for selection of an existing database, creation of a new one, repair and compaction of an existing database. For more information on these, see MS Access Help. For most setups, you won't want to select a System Database, and I don't know much about it, so you are on your own there. If you click options, you will see an additional group of settings. You may have to tweak these if you have heavy traffic, but if you have heavy traffic, you probably need a different database :) Clicking Advanced gives you the power to set more advanced options, like usernames, passwords, and working directories. This is also Access specific stuff. After you have setup this, go to Zope and select add a new ZODBC adapter. You will see the system DSN you have added. Highlight and add. The world is your oyster. using getPhysicalRoot

Hi there I'm having the following problem with the getPhysicalRoot method. 1. I call this method inside an object: a = self.getPhysicalRoot() 2.1. If I "exec" the object from Zope by clicking on it everything works fine 3.1. If I call this object from another object via: return target_obj.index_html(id_query,title_query,blurb_query,path_query,meta_type_query,REQUEST) when it executes the a = self.getPhysicalRoot() instruction I get the following error: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: call of non-function (type string) If I print the type of the object with print type(self) I get the following: In 2.1 <extension class Acquisition.ImplicitAcquirerWrapper at 401a7234> In 3.1 <extension class Products.ModeratorResults.ModeratorResults.ModeratorResults at 84e9850> where ModeratorResults is my Object which is located in the file Products/ModeratedResults. MSSQL7 ZSQL method works, can't use in DTML

Hi all- I'm trying to set up a dual-zope arrangement to allow use of my MS-SQL Server 7.0 database data in linux-based web docs. Perusal of the Zope Book & the mailing list archives got me only so far -- specifically, I can connect to the database, I can browse it from the ZODBC object, I can create a ZSQL Method using it, and test it, and get the data I oughta get. All of this had me thrilled, until I tried to use the ZSQL method in a dtml document, as follows: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <H2>Here's SQL output:</H2> <UL> <dtml-in test> <LI><dtml-var tour_name></LI> </dtml-in>   </UL> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> This document, when viewed, starts prompting me for username & password, and refuses to accept anything that oughta work. I've created a user in MS-SQL specifically for this purpose, and it doesn't work. My own privileged login name and password don't work. I've tried creating variations on the basic ODBC datasource, wherein the connection type is SQL-Server LID/PW instead of trusted connection; TCP-IP connection instead of Named Pipe; I've even tried using a dummy Access DB with linked tables (that work fine in Access) to create an MS-Access ODBC datasource. dtml-var AND dtml-tree

Hello, I'm trying to submit a form to a dtml-document (as action) which i did. But if a have a dtml-tree in the action Document the recursion doesn't work on clicking on the +/- icon when i try to access a dtml-var passed through the form. something like this: dtml-document_one has: <form .... action="dtml-document_two"> <input type="text" name="test" value="0"> </form> dtml-document_two has: <dtml-tree expr="PARENTS[0].dir1.dir2" branches_expr="objectValues(['Folder','DTML Document'])"> <IMG border="0" SRC="<dtml-var SCRIPT_NAME>/<dtml-var icon>"> <dtml-var id> </dtml-tree> <dtml-var test> If i click on the +/- of the tree it gives me an error on finding the object test ! The value is displayed on the first load, but the recursion doesn't work !! Has anyone accomplished something like this working ??? thanks, Nuno
